Steelers are 9th seed currently. Texans are 8.

THE WINNER OR LOSER IS IRRELEVANT TO THE STEELERS IN THE COLTS/TEXANS GAME. IF THE STEELERS WIN, ONLY A TIE IN THAT GAME WOULD HELP AND PUT THE STEELERS IN. IF THE STEELERS LOSE, THAT GAME CANT END IN A TIE.... ANY OUTRIGHT WINNER WILL DO

Try it again with Denver winning next week, with the Jags losing.

    It matters.

Still no. Saw no scenario where Jags win and we get in.

If the Jags win, the Steelers can get it with a win and either a Buffalo loss or a Colts/Texans tie.

If the Jags lose, the Steelers can get it with a win or with a loss and a Denver win.

Both the Bills and Jags games matter to the Steelers next week.

More than half the AFC seeds are set

    1 Ravens
    2 Bills/Dolphins winner
    3. KC
    5 Browns

    4 AFC South winner
    6 Bills/Miami/Colts/Texans/Steelers
    7 Colts/Texans/Steelers/Bills/Jags

    Assuming no ties

The good news is Miami will have massive motivation. If they win, they hold the 7 seed, if they lose they go to KC. Also, if they win, they would host the AFC divisional round if they get there, otherwise they're on the road for games 1 and 2.

I`m so sorry. I`m not counting 7th seed as a playoff team. Duh. Was thinking 6th was cutoff for some reason. I must be losing it, LOL.

It comes down to us winning and either a Buffalo or Jacksonville loss. Technically the Houston/Indy game can end in a tie and we get in, but the Bills/Jags losing is much more likely.

Here is the latest, now that I realize 7th seed is a playoff team. Now I find no scenario where we don`t get in if Buffalo loses and we win.

Technically a win isn't needed. If the Jags lose and the Broncos win, the Steelers are in unless the Texans/Colts game ends in a tie even with a loss.

Yep. Bills lose and we win = playoffs. Bills win and Jags lose and we win = playoffs.

I've seen people killing the Ravens for running up the score today, but the Dolphins didn't pull their starters either and they lost their best pass rusher for next week vs Buffalo because McDaniel didn't pull his players. That hurts the Dolphins chances for winning next week.

The Dolphins win last week vs Dallas hurt the Steelers because that could have given the Steelers another path into the playoffs (of course, so could have beating the Cards, Pats, Colts or DTR led Browns).

No, if Bills win and Jagoffs lose and we win - then playoffs.

Or if Jags lose and Denver wins, Steelers are in (unless Colts/Texans tie)

I`m not finding Denver relevant (with us 10-7) when I check. Also don`t see tie between Colts/Texans hurting us.

Ha. Found a way in at 9-8. Jags and Colts lose too and Denver wins. Buffalo game does not matter in this scenario.

Edit: Don`t need Colts to lose,

Wouldn't it be nice if the Steelers won their game on Saturday afternoon, and then the Colts/Texans tied later that night. We could all watch Sunday football without any stress

The Steelers can't be eliminated on Saturday even if they lose. They're going to be in if the Jaguars lose and the Broncos win
