If the coaching staff had committed to Rudolph and brought in a legitimate OC and offensive coaching staff, how much further along would we be today? We can’t know for sure, but it is something to ponder.:hmm:

You think? I think it's pretty clear who QB1 should be

Hindsight is always 20/20, we just have to plow forward. Mason played in the pre season and didn’t perform well.

And Kenny balled out, lol. I’ll NEVER put any stock in pre-season ever again.

When they had really good teams there for a few years, the sports media in this country tried to put forth the concept that they were the best NFL fans in the country. Then, we come to find out that just like Indy, there were times when they were piping in crowd noise. I personally think their fans are whiny as a rule. They couldn't carry Steeler Nation's jock strap.

I can't understand why the Steeler game wouldn't have been on. I think it would have been the closest regional game. Browns played Thursday and Bills played at one o'clock.

That’s true but you don’t approach it and say “let’s take the worst performer from PS and start them”

Bell isn’t on the list because Tomlin refused to use the #2 RB. Therefore Bell got hurt a lot. Tomlin said “I will run the wheels off of him”. Which he did and he rarely finished a season healthy. Thanks Tomlin

The worst thing to happen to Mason was being drafted to replace Ben. Any QB that was drafted in that role was going to have a major target on their back from inside and outside the organization.

The QB coach was Ben's guy, the OC was Ben's guy, QB3 was Ben's guy.

    2 Things.

    1) I want Kenny as our #2 QB next week.

    2) I would like to see Calvin Austin run a few Deep routes like he did in week 16. Did I miss Calvin Austin on offense?

I know it is exciting to get the victory, and Rudolph was impressive… HOWEVER … that was a bad run defense we went up against.

The Bengals were bad against the pass. Indy was supposed to be weak vs. the run. NE had a bad offense. And Arizona was supposed to be bad all around. The Steelers lost 3 of those games.

I looked into my Walmart crystal ball (lowest quality) and by the end of the year Mason will have won us a playoff game to snap the L streak and almost win a 2nd one, but the zebras snatch it out of our hands in another heart breaker. He will be everyone’s fav player and won’t be able to pay for a drink in town wherever he goes.

Pickett will be further broken and demoralized by his 2nd class status. Mason will sign elsewhere and not be as good as this short stretch or loved like this again. A few more insignificant NFL years before a fade away. Same for Pickett - gone and mostly forgotten.

Or they both re-sign and become besties supporting each other for a bunch of years with some more than decent years but never win a Super Bowl until they and Tomlin are finally gone.

    Friggin Walmart…

At least he learns on the side lines unlike our bitter 1st round pick.

Just had yet ANOTHER debate with some Seahags (you know I want to use another name) fan over the 2005 Super Bowl while getting a takeout meal the other night. He told me to come back this week AFTER this game. Can’t wait to cross his threshold. I’m gonna be smiling like a bright mouthed toothpaste commercial. Dude better have his sunglasses.

I’m so tired of explaining to those fools all the reasons that we won that SB and why they lost it. I always start with the push off TD the refs gifted them that they ALLLLLWAYS seem to forget; but I don’t. We had every splash play that game and Joey Porter proved they were “soft”. Ufua they love that.

Man, you are desperate to bring that up. So much so that you did it in response to a post that wasn't relevant to the discussion. It would be stupid to give a quarterback this far into his career huge money based on two good games against terrible defenses. If you want to debate that, you are even more clueless than I thought.

Going into last season, starting Trubisky was the right call. He had a better resume and a better preseason. That is inarguable among the sane, yet you've been foolishly arguing it for nearly two years now. The evidence didn't back you up. I'm sorry you still can't see that.

What was the logic for moving Rudolph ahead of him after that? He looked good against third-stringers in preseason? Um, yay? The entire league agreed, every other team passing on even signing Rudolph as a No. 2 quarterback.

The point where Tomlin screwed it up was by sticking with Trubisky in that Patriots game. He had been okay against the Cardinals, but not good, so there was no reason he shouldn't have been on a short leash. Rudolph should have come into that game at halftime at the latest. He certainly should have started against the Colts. He needs to start next week regardless of Pickett's health, but I think he will be gone next season. The Steelers might offer him the chance to compete for the job, but they aren't going to hand it to him based on three games out of six seasons.
