Didn't call you names. Was referencing your statement that I'm going to make it difficult. I asked a simple question and unless someone is a full blown retard, it's not hard to answer my question.
If Jackson isn't worthy, then who is ahead of him this year?

Actually, I was kind of curious about who you think should get it as well. It seems to be a point of contention almost every year.

If one was to go off of stats alone, at least at the QB position, Tua would have to be under consideration. Not saying he's who I think should win it, strictly a numbers based conversation.

I did answer it. It's irrelevant. What happened in previous years is completely irrelevant. It has no bearing on this year. It doesn't matter to me if they screwed up and picked a QB with 0 TD's last year, it doesn't mean squat about this year.

All I'm saying is, if you claim someone shouldn't be the MVP, then you must be able to point to who is more deserving. Someone has to win, so if not Jackson, then who? I'll even help

Tyreek Hill - I could get on board with this, but him being a WR is a problem. Replace him with another good WR, Miami still probably has the same wins and losses

Purdy - I'm not even convinced he's the most valuable player on that team. McCaffrey might be more deserving. That scheme makes everyone look good

McCaffrey - Again, that scheme makes everyone look good. Replace him with another good RB and I doubt anything is different

Matt Stafford - Yeah, I could get on board with this one.

Tua - Great scheme and so many amazing playmakers around him. Also a great scheme.

Dak actually has better numbers than Stafford. And a team with a better record. Problem is, the Cowboys stink away from home and Dak hasn't been able to get them over that hump.

Yeah, which is why I don't only look at stats. They're a big part of the picture obviously, but not the whole thing. When Stafford missed the game against GB, the Rams got smashed. They were barely able to get 1st downs. Stafford lit up 2 very good defences in Cleveland and Baltimore. Stafford is 8-6 with one of the worst defence/special teams units in the league.

There's no clear favourite right now. If the Dolphins beat the Ravens, does Tua leap frog Jackson? If Stafford beats the 49'ers, he'll continue to rise in the MVP race. Dak could jump back into the race if he finishes strong, although his play on the road is going to make that hard.

I think the winner should be McCaffrey but I guess it will be another QB again.

Granted, DPOY isn't entirely a stats driven award. That said though, should TJ Watt break the All Time Sack record, who else does the award go to?!?!

Yep....and Garrett rushes the passer on every play. You don't see him in coverage the way Watt plays in coverage a decent percentage of the time. So Garrett gets more opportunities, yet still has less production rushing the passer.

When you consider that Parsons has the benefit of playing off the ball part time, the fact that TJ has more tackles is pretty damning for Parsons in this comparison.

But but but but Garrett and Parsons have a better pass rush win rate and get double teamed more. Its rediculous. It should be watt if he leads in that many categories. Garrett and Parsons have better CB play which supports coverage sacks and they have a better defense around them and they scheme those guys more for more favorable matchups. The Steelers are pretty vanilla. Rush four guys from the same spot pretty much every time. I would rather Watt end up leading the league in sacks and not getting the DPOY than not leading the league in sacks and getting DPOY. That way he will come back even angrier next year.

Based on these stats, it’s ludicrous that Watt wouldn’t be the odds-on favorite for DPOY. If the season ends up with these disparities in the numbers and Watt doesn’t win it, how would voters justify that?

Well no matter what others think....they have shown... as far as I looked back....2010. I got bored looking...because it was always the same.
If a Qb wins it.... it has always been the Qb that is first , or second overall in tds, or overall yards, and , or both.....every freaking time. Not sometimes, but every time.....Not how many games their team won.
So if Lamar Jackson wins it.....it would definitely be a change in how it has been picked, and No amount of arguments will change those facts. No matter how anyone feels.
So by going with How it has been picked before....if it ends up being a Qb....it should be whomever is 1st, or 2nd in at least one of those, and since Lamar is not close to any of these, and some don't even want to consider how it's always been done.....makes You wonder.

I don't know why, but Garrett seems like a media darling this year, I guess it is because the Browns are actually winning this year? Maybe that and their overall defense is ranked high.

Our team's stench of failure is bringing Watt down, but god damn Watt single handedly won some games for us this year with plays on "WEIGHTY DOWS," as Mike Tomlin would say.

I'm curious how he is like Mike Trout? I don't follow Trout but he is from my area and get's a lot of Press. Does Trout do stuff like that?? I thought only NFL Players did that kind of celebrating.

Trout is uber talented, intense, works hard, has stats wins awards etc etc. But never wins. Some team will over pay for Watts services so Steelers could land a haul. I dont get attached to players.

    Causation doesn't equal correlation.

Just because the guy with the most TD's won doesn't mean he was picked because he had the most TD's. You're looking at it with a very narrow scope.

The guy with the most TD's was obviously considered to be the most valuable to his team. Having lots of TD's is obviously a big factor in that, but it's not the only factor.

A teams success is a big part of being selected as MVP. Dak can't win on the road. That's a problem. If he was half as good on the road as at home, he'd easily be the front runner. There's definitely an argument to Dak being MVP though

Purdy is perhaps not even the most valuable guy on his own team. Jackson is far more valuable to Baltimore's success than Purdy is. The fact that Gorropolo was so good under Shanahan is proof of that, IMO.

Who falls faster without their starting QB. Dallas, Baltimore or SF? I think the answer right now is Baltimore. Dallas looked great with Cooper rush and SF will look great with me at QB and I suck.

The next 2 weeks will decide who comes out on top. It's a very close race right now. I think an argument can be made for 5 guys.

Yeah I think all the negativity about the Steelers is hurting TJ's chances.

But just because Garrett is 1st on betting sites doesn't mean that's what the AP is thinking.
