Not really worth figuring playoff chances until this week is completed. When your down to two weeks, more realistic.

Big picture regarding us getting a wild card, seems to me Bills and Browns have momentum and are in excellent position. So we have another finish of a season where we look to eek in as 6th seed somehow. That starts with winning last 2 games. To make that easier, other thing for us is to hope Ratbirds have nothing to play for when we play them. I suppose could be turn out like last year where many 6th seed contenders lose just right for us and we get within a game of getting in at 9-8.

Like last year, just trying to be alive going into last week is next goal. That disastrous game against the Cards really set us up for a failed season.

    I don't think they'll win either game.

Seattle because it's the west coast and the game will matter to them for a playoff spot.

Ravens because not only will it be for the 1 seed possibly, but it could be for the AFCN. If the Browns and Ravens tie at 12-5, the Ravens drop from the 1 seed (assuming they lose to 49ers and beat Miami) all the way to the 5 seed with a loss to the Steelers. Don't see that happening.

Yeah, the Browns and Bills getting hot while we lose 3 in a row is not the scenario we were hoping for. Even winning one of those 3 games could've made the difference

Colts down 20-7 to Atlanta with 9 minutes left in the 3rd and Houston down 22-7 to the Browns with 11 minutes left in the 3rd so those are both the results the Steelers were looking for pretty much in these early games. If they both hold up and the Dolphins lose to the Cowboys later the Steelers are very much alive going into next weeks game in Seattle.

we win 2 and get to 10, i'd suppose we get the #7 spot. CLE keeps winning.......any other losses and it's not worth the typing.

There are scenarios where if the Steelers finish in a 4 way tie at 10-7 with Buffalo Denver and Houston and Miami Denver and Houston and Indy Buffalo and Denver and they would get in but all rests on the Steelers winning their last 2 games in both Seattle and Baltimore.

Houston and Indy both look like they are gonna lose today which would put both of them at 8-7 with the Steelers going into next week with both of them of course owning the head to head tiebreaker over the Steelers. Still though if you are an optimist the Steelers playoff chances are looking a helluva a lot better then they were 24 hours ago this time right when the game with the Bengals was about to begin. They will get a little better later as well if Dallas beats Miami.

I still think they are going to win out and miss the playoffs just so we can agonize over getting knocked out due to a loss to the ****ing Patriots.

Big if regarding Dallas as they are very, very poor at away games. If the game was at home, I would take Dallas and not look back. However, with Tyreek Hill back?!.... oof...

There is a VERY SLIM chance that if Steelers lose the Seahawks game and beat Ravens, they can still get in at 9-8.

The Steelers got screwed by the refs against the Patriots, on that weak false start penalty on the long snapper, even the Patriots defender thought the flag was on him by his reaction afterwards. They should've had a chance to force the game into OT at least.

It will be tough for the Steelers to win out, especially with all the injuries in the back seven.

I know the Steelers struggled losing three straight, but Jacksonville is about to lose their fourth straight game in a weak division.

The Dolphins just clinched a playoff spot with their win over the Cowboys. The amount of available playoff spots left are dwindling rapidly.

It's over. Neither the colts nor the Texans are losing next week. Both are heavy favorites. Forget it. This is Tomlins fault. His team lost to the Patriots and the Cardinals and all they had to do was win both and they are in right now.

It's probably down to 1 spot between Denver, Pittsburgh, Houston and Indy.

Slim chance the Bills lose @ Miami and open a second spot. Bills rolled Dallas, Miami barely got by Dallas. I think the Bills beat Miami by 10-14 points. If Miami doesn't beat the Ravens next week, the Bills are going to win the East (and be a dangerous team in January).

The Jags have collapsed losing 4 in a row. They are lucky they play 2 crappy teams to end the season in the Panthers and Titans.

Don't need either of them to lose next week.

Need Dolphins to beat the Bills in week 18, the Steelers to win out and Houston to beat Indy in Week 18. The Dolphins will have something to play for no matter what (unless Buffalo loses to NE next week). Dolphins beat Ravens, they're playing for the 1 seed vs Buffalo. Dolphins lose to the Ravens, they're playing for a home game vs likely having to go to Buffalo in the WC round.

You pretty much can pencil the Buffalo - Miami game for SNF on Jan 8th right now.

If there is a 4 way tie at 10-7 with the Steelers, Texans, Broncos and Bills, the Steelers would get it. Also would get in with a 3 way tie with Bills, Steelers and Colts (meaning would need 1 Denver loss somewhere).

The Steelers losing to both Arizona and NE was flat out inexcusable and should cost Tomlin his job because of his pig headed stubbornness, sticking with Trubisky (signing him to stay on actually). Couple that with losing the 2 rookie coaches (Texans and Colts) and Tomlin should get roasted. The Steelers weren't good this year at times, but it was set up for them to be playing for the AFCN and possibly a 1 seed in week 18. The Steelers weren't that good, but Tomlin deserves to be done in coaching forever for that.

If the Steelers could trade him for anything of value they'd be insane not to do so as fast as possible.

At the end of the day, it probably won't matter because everything starts with the Steelers having to win out and that's massively unlikely.
