Have they said that Mason will start if Kenny can't go, or that he starts either way?

Just heard on the NFL Network that Pickett has been ruled out. Rudolph is a full go for Saturday.

Exactly. Might as well shut down Watt then, he’s the most valuable piece of the team.

Hope Rudolph was getting starter snaps all week and game planned for him playing Sunday.

‘Honestly don’t know with this coaching.

Yes, Rudolph was getting all of the 1st team reps in practice, according to an article I read yesterday.

Does it really matter that your 3rd team QB gets all the 1st team practice?

Well, it’s generally better than getting no reps.

The question was asked, so I answered it.

I know. It's just that our 2nd and 3rd team guys are so bad.....!

Looking forward to it. A very low probability of this happening but with all the BS going on with the Steelers it would be nice to see Mason Rudolph get a win. Not sure but don't think he has many as a starter but he also didn't start a lot.

Mason’s first career start was against the Bengals and he went 24-28 for 229 yards and 2 TD’s, in a 27-3 win. Who knows…. Maybe he’s got some good vibes playing against them?

It matters if you have a coaching that game plans to his strengths. Every little bit helps.

After that game, I thought we had our qb for the future. He was easily outplaying Baker Mayfield before he got knocked out cold. I mean his arms were sort of in rigor mortis mode and he was totally out. Next time you put yourself in that situation, your brain is telling your body to ‘abandon’ and red alarms are going. It’s not easy to recover from that. So far he has shown that it still affects him. This Saturday we will know more.. Hoping he succeeds.

In all seriousness, I hope MR plays well enough to get himself another contract, with somebody.

When you have Flacco coming off the couch(which is pretty awesome btw. Give it up), it really shows the value of back ups.

He's a good kid, and has been nothing but professional. Glad he's getting a shot.

That adds a wrinkle and maybe get a forfeit if Bengals don't show up. ;)

He was impressive until getting knocked out cold by Earl Thomas. After that Rudolph was never the same QB again. I'm hoping for a Geno Smith like comeback. Someone who faded into obscurity for a few years until he got another chance.

Start Mason. Pickett and Turbuski had there chance. If we make the playoffs it will be one and done. Hope Mason if he starts does well.

Yeah if he’s ready put him in, he should still be under evaluation. His performance should determine how hard the Steelers go after a QB in the draft or FA.

only if he’s fully healthy, no need to risk his health and career under these circumstances

Rudolph after all should be evaluated also to see how good he can play; keep as backup? He hasn’t played a regular season game in two years and in that game he made enough good throws to win if his receivers helped him out a bit more

Boy it would be nice for Alex Highsmith to show up Saturday so they can’t double Watt every play. Watching TJ go for the sack record is one of the few remaining fun storylines this season.

uh, no. Not until we are mathematically eliminated. Don't consider resting healthy players while there is still a chance to make the playoffs.

It's just the right thing to do. If your head coach is mailing in the season week 16, then he shouldn't be the head coach. We're not a 3 win team vying for the top spot in the draft... We should be playing our guys until we're officially done.

Such good news. At this point, let Mason have a crack and maybe perform for other teams. Don't care, would prefer if Mason goes rest of the seaon and he gets a solid 3 game showcase of his skills for other teams. There might not be much but leave Kenny on ice rest of the year.
