Tomlin goes at end of the season

QB room next year consists of KP, Tyrod Taylor and MR (or a 6 th round QB)

Cole replaced at center with our number one pick

new coach is presently an OC in Detroit
    Brings Mark Brunell with him

new DC also - I’d love to see them bring back Flores

Agreed. Team is 1-10 without Watt. Some fans think this team is much worse than it is when in fact most of its problems stem from a peewee offensive scheme and poor QB play.

also they will extend Tomlin to be the highest paid coach in nfl history

They are probably going to finish one or two games from a playoff spot. Given the underperforming offense, the front office will probably conclude that it's a coaching issue, and wholesale changes don't need to be made.

New OC will be a no name, Tomlin gets a one or two year show me something extension.

Giving up all four of those guys is giving up on the 2024 season. That is tanking.

Rebuilding and tanking are not the same thing. All of their production can easily be replaced and the potential draft capital returned can improve the team in other areas.

Johnson has contributed 4 touchdowns this year and is going into the last year of his contract. The Steelers should not resign him anyways. His catches, yards, and touchdowns are easily replaced.

Pickens is becoming a bit of a cancer. Now, I'm not against keeping him and frankly I think Johnson is setting a bad example for him if he is setting one at all. His production is replaced.

Harris isn't getting his 5th year option and frankly, running backs are a dime a dozen. His production is easily replaced.

    What I want to happen....

Replace Tomlin with Jim Harbaugh, Ben Johnson or some young up and coming coach with a background in offense
Draft QB in 1st round, Center in 2nd round, CB, Safety or ILB in 3rd and 4th round
Acquire Minshew, Heineke or Browning as veteran backup QB
Trade DJ for a 3rd round pick, pickup good veteran WR like Theilan from Panthers who has rotted on that team or Tee Higgins from Bengals
Bring back Flores as DC, get all new LB, Secondary and DL coaches currently not on staff
Bring back Holcolmb, Roberts and Alexander at ILB
Get best 3-4 DE available in free agency to replace Heyward on DL
Bring back Waitman or Wing to punt, cut Harvin

    What will likely happen.....

    Tomlin will get another year
Steelers will draft either DE, ILB or Center in round 1 and draft QB in round 4 or 5 for 3rd string QB
Steelers keep DJ and cut Robinson
Steelers keep Austin as DC and keep most of defensive staff intact
Steelers will promote some cheap, obscure DMV NCAA coach to be OC with no NFL experience
Steelers will keep Harvin as punter

I have no idea what the Steelers will do for the 2024 season but I hope they become more of a team. I get it that 53 guys with ego's and that young man swagger ain't going to love one another but I can't remember a time where there seems to be so much back stabbing and name calling among our players. More dissension then I can remember. Noll's teams, Cowher's teams had their share of troubles among the ranks but this season seems really ugly to me.

Such a pipe dream but I loved it. I have zero clue what is out there for 2024 draft but I sure hope we find a Center and a Punter.

During the Killer B's era, Colin Cowherd said that the Steelers locker room was the only one in the NFL that was like an NBA locker room, that is to say a locker room with a lot of ego and he was not that wrong. Now, 5 years after the departure of AB and others, it's still the same thing!

They cleaned it up after AB left and they made it a point to bring in high character guys since then.

It was working until they deviated from that by being seduced by Pickens talent and him sitting there in rd 2. Now it’s coming back around to smack them upside their head.

Jackson Powers Johnson might have something to say about that pending his Bowl Performances. Imo he is already a Top 50 Player to some; Top 40 for others. It is very difficult for a Center to being even considered a First Round selection; Tyler Lindenbaum being the major exception as he was a slam dunk. Others like Ceaser Ruiz, Garrett Bradburry and others were not as advertised until late in the draft process.

Billy Price is the last major one I can think of coming out that had him billed as a Top 20 pick. Sadly, he didn't live up to that but coming out?! He was a different story.

JPJ is worth taking a look into. How far he can improve his stock will be up to him. Don't be surprised though if you hear his name in First Round discussion come April.

I haven’t seen him anywhere near top 40. Being that we are probably drafting in the 10-12 range which makes someone in top 40 a terrible pick. Give me another qb or cb

Who says he is worth a Top 15 Pick?! All I said was that it isn't implausible to see him in the first round. As for the Top 40 comment, oh but he is. Part of that projection has to do with talent. The other?! Schematic fit. Not only can JPJ maul people straight up, he also has a nice set of wheels to go along with it.

He does need some polish but the foundation for a Pro Bowl Career is there.
