Sorry. But that's like saying Blake Bortles was the answer for the Jaguars because he took them to the AFC Championship game. Blake Bortles was in no way shape or form a franchise QB. He just wasn't.

Relax everyone. Coach Tomlin totally has got this. What could go possibly go wrong other than
Kenny getting blasted on their first 3rd and long and ending up in the hospital needing his spleen removed?

The Steelers can just insert Mason to hand off to Harris on 1st down, throw an incomplete 2 yard slant on second, and execute Jet Sweep/ QB Sack on 3rd down. Mason will be very fresh coming off the bench and can take those hits.

Mason will do fine (better than Noodle Arm Mitch) with the desperate downfield passes once we are down three scores and the defense is completely gassed.

Its all part of coach's plan.....

When we are 10-7 headed to the Playoffs this board will be praising Mike;) I'd say there is a -1% chance of that but damn if this board wouldn't be a hell of a lot of fun.

I doubt it even if a miracle somehow happened. Everyone knows the Steelers would get smoked in that playoff game going to KC or Jacksonville.

I think many fans (like myself) are just done with Tomlin and ready to move on to a coach with some gameday ability, offensive acumen, and tactical thinking.

It's pathetic to play him. Just more bad leadership from Tomlin IF they send him out there. What's going to happen? We're going to win 3 in a row and THEN beat KC in the playoffs on the road? Laughable.

Kenny is no doubt feeling pressure to get out there as he's worried the Steelers might draft over him or make a trade. So you can't trust Kenny when he says he's ready to go.

He needs to be shut down.

If he's that worried about it then perhaps he should have played a lot better in the first 25 games of his career. Now he has a sense of urgency? The guy has like a career 45 QBR rating. The Steelers would be justified if they chose to do either. That being said I think it's too soon also and Rudolph should be left to start on Saturday.

Off topic but I was watching a car builder show I really like today and it turns out his ranch is in the Mojave Desert. Not sure I could get used to living in that wasteland!:lolol:

Maybe we could rotate them, have the other 2 play iron man and fill in at safety?

You play to win unless you're mathematically eliminated. If we are shutting down our QB1 that is healthy enough to play, then we are just conceding the season and that isn't ok. That should be a fireable offense unless the directive was given from ownership (doubt that would be the case).

It's not like Pickett is some franchise QB who we are trying to protect for the future. He is a guy fighting for his NFL life right now. If he is healthy enough to play, play him.

Yeah but vintage car bumpers don't rust out there! That's also why all branches of the military have all their weapon depots out there - 2% humidity probably 300+ days a year. Things last forever, unless of course if they need water. Actually I moved away from the Mojave almost 4 years ago to the snowy Eastern Sierra region of California but if I changed my screen name everyone would think I'm just Benny or SDOT spinning new alias'. :lolol:

My avatar photo is a typical view from late Fall till Spring out here in Timbukthree.

Khan call around n get me another QB, doesn’t matter who just roll the dice we may get lucky.

Hey, maybe he’ll throw a TD pass which Pickett seems to struggle with. And if he throws two…MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Kenny Pickett will start against the Bengals.

The Steelers won't let poor Rudolph join in any football games.

Put in Mason and let Kenny heal so if we get a Rudolf miracle and make the playoffs ,Kenny is healthy, Mason is hot ,(only way we get in ) and we know who helps Mitch carry his bags out of town. Hopefully Tomlin and they both end up together ,anywhere but here.

The throw off his backfoot in his last interception was ridiculous. He had no reason to be falling away from the ball when throwing it. As a matter of fact he had room to step into that throw.

The players seem to have respect for Mason. DJ was calling for him to start last year when Pickett was hurt. The WRs seem confident in Mason. My guess is they believe they will see more go balls than they've seen all year. Kenny is a competitor and I'm sure is pushing to get out there. On the other hand, Mason is a different type of QB than the other two. It has been said before Mason was not part of the mix in the rush to get Pickett on the field last year because it was beleived by higher ups that Mason could have stirred up a QB controversy. In Canada's words they played "Good enough to win." In translation it meant, playing by the skin of our teeth is acceptable. I believe in Mason against the Bengals.

Good. Kenny, even if he isn't 100%, is their best option.

Read that again in context. I was poking fun at your argument that not drafting Pickett would have put them in position for the No. 2 overall pick. It was that argument that suggested he was worth six victories in 2022. I don't agree with that assessment.

Johnson played well with Mason in 2019, so that makes some sense.

And proud of it. LOL But good news, I saved 15% on fewer purchases of Chapstick not living in zero humidity. Retirement bonus!

Here's my Christmas carol for you MM:

"I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can't remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La la la la la la.." :lolol:

Now you're talking. Most of the Mojave is considered "High Desert" meaning > 2500 ft elevation and where summer nights cool down to the high 60's low 70's. Avoid the "Low Desert" in the summer i.e. Palm Springs, Death Valley, Salton (Dead) Sea. Night temps typically stay in the high 90's, 100's. Ugh! Lots of amazing geology in the Mojave - one of my hobbies along with dark sky astronomy.

I have to say, I am intrigued. Just one more place in our own country I never really think to visit.
