We keep having this discussion in pieces, but who should be the Steelers' quarterback in 2024? Should they trade for a veteran or sign one? Stick with Pickett for another year? Bring in a lesser veteran to compete with Pickett? Draft another one in the first round? Finally give Mason Rudolph his shot?

I didn't want this in the OP, but I couldn't find the thread with the long argument about Cousins as an option because he is coming off a torn Achilles' tendon and he will be 36. Someone (my memory is failing me) insisted he can bounce back fine because Aaron Rodgers has recovered so quickly. Never mind that Rodgers hadn't made it all the way back yet and he won't this season. In fact, it came out today that Rodgers still isn't fully healed, so the whole story about his miraculous recovery was bull****. It was just Rodgers feeding his own desperate need for attention and way too many people fell for it.

I could be wrong since I don't know enough the QBs in the next draft but I don't think it's realistic that the Steelers can draft a QB with high potential in the 2024 draft...If it's possible, they need to go for it

But the Steelers have so many problems, they need a true rebuilding top to bottom....That's another story, but if that happens, I would go with Pickett and another QB in free agency as competition

First, and foremost....not Trubisky. I think KFP will get one more year, and even though I'm not keen on it....He should. Doesn't mean He should play the whole season if it's showing He hasn't progress. I also think someone else must be drafted, and , or brought in as a competition.

You should add as an option: some lucky person picked out of section B row 2 seat# 13
They could do no worse than the 3 impersonators we have already!

I think we'll see Pickett to see how he performs with (hopefully) a competent Offensive plan. I've said before as others have that not very many QBs would do well with this offensive line and with the offensive playbook. While KP hasn't been great, there have been flashes, and I'd like to see how he would actually perform in a competent system. I don't want another potentially good QB in the same bad system.

I agree, but i dont think KFP is the man, but i agree with getting a quality or somewhat mediocre O line before we ruin another qb

Are you serious about Mason? You used to be a sports writer? How much do you possibly have to see of Mason before you realize he is trash? Come on man!
You dont have someone to remind you every hr to breathe do you?

I’m with Glenn, the OL needs an overhaul. Can’t do that while drafting/spending on a QB. Build around KP, give him until the end of his rookie contract, while under a new coaching regime.

Steelers should draft a QB in round 1.... AND get the best free agent QB they can find. And find a new HC and OC.

We have to up grade the room, bring
In competition thru draft/ fa to compete with KFP.
But more important a new OC/ play caller that can get the most
Out of talent of the QB's.

I can see doing it if there is someone available they love and they have lost faith in Pickett, but they better be damn sure. If not, they should fix the offensive line first. The lack of reliable protection in general and poor play of Cole in particular have made things a lot tougher on Pickett.

Easy there, Tiger. I think he's just throwing out possibilities, not necessarily endorsing one.

There is going to be a huge grab for QB in round one, that does not mean they will all pan out, doubtful someone drops to as low as we are going to pick and I do not want to move up. Stay the course and rebuild that line. C is a position of great need. Maybe that can wait till round 2, but then you have to look at CB or DL. We have Benton but need a replacement for Cam.

A good Center can be had in round 2... especially early round 2, if Steelers end up 7-10. Get RT in free agency.

I'm not sure there will be a center worth taking in the first round, but they need to address that position. I think that should be their top priority.

Have to give Kenny another year under a new OC, a legit OC and see what he can do with that.

And finish retooling the line, it’s not a complete mess.

Clean out the trash behind Kenny and bring in someone who could take his job. Right now Kenny knows Trubisky and Rudolph are no threat to him. That’s not to imply Kenny isn’t trying but I don’t think complacency is a good thing either especially when you haven’t proven anything yet.

Unless we lose out the rest of the year and find us in a position to draft someone better than Kenny...

I think you find an OC for Kenny, and you find him a new Center and at least one Guard.
