As if things didn’t look already bleak for the Steelers both the Texans and Browns both win after trailing by 10 points going into the 4th quarter. The Texans and Browns play each other next week and had they both lost today and the Steelers beat the Bengals next week they could have been back in the 6 or 7 spot for the wildcard. I’m rooting for the Steelers to lose out anyway so the Steelers have no excuse not to part ways with Tomlin but for those who are still rooting for any of glimmer of hope for the Steelers to still get a wildcard spot the Texans and Browns coming from behind and both winning their games made the Steelers slim chances at a wildcard spot that much tougher. And at the end of the day Tomlin and this team gets everything they deserve.

I gave up on playoffs after the Arz game, but it looks like the Steelers will finish bottom of the division now. They may sneak one more win but it’s quite possible that they lose out.

Chances were down to 9% after loss. Now pretty much 0%.

I’m more curious what Tomlins gut says about making playoffs than what the data shows…

Yea we need total humiliation these last 3 games. The Steelers and Tomlin can’t win any of them. They gotta end the year on a 6 game losing streak and go from 7-4 to 7-10 while facing several backup Quarterbacks during that stretch and losing to two of the worst teams in football at home in a span of 5 days. That would be very very hard for Rooney and ownership to just turn the other way and overlook and not want to or feel the need to make a change. If Tomlin goes into next year without a contract extension and is a lame duck I don’t think he is back next year.

Tomlin is out of answers. You can tell by listening to him at these press conferences after the games and during the week the last 2 weeks something is different with Tomlin the arrogance and smart ass answers are not there like they used to be and their is nervousness now in his voice and knowing for the first time since being here that his job is potentially in jeopardy.

Injuries will be Tomlins scapegoat now that Canada is gone. Seems like he always has an out

The Steelers could be eliminated from the playoffs mathematically with a loss against the Bengals

Can’t really use that excuse because other teams have injuries just as bad if not worse then the Steelers and they are winning games with backup QB’s like the Browns, Bengals and Colts. Losing Pickett as bad as Trubisky has been has not been good but they still have been healthy overall for the most part. Injuries can’t help Tomlin escape a 6 game losing streak to end the season should that happen while facing an easy schedule. Not gonna work this time.

I’m hoping that they move on but not expecting it.

More likely they just bring in a new OC and run it back again with Pickett and see if he is the guy. After next season Tomlins contract will be up and if it’s more of the same and Pickett isn’t the guy they probably make wholesale changes. New HC, new QB, HC will bring in new OC/DC. Thats what I think happens.

But I’m hoping like crazy Tomlin really is interested in moving on and going to the Skins.

Yea I think if they lose to the Bengals and the Colts and Texans both win next week in their games against Atlanta and Cleveland the Steelers would be out or at the very worst hanging by an absolute thread going into the Seattle game the following week. As I mentioned to start this thread the Texans and Browns both winning today and the Bills who are currently up 14-0 on Dallas was an absolute kick in the nuts to the slim playoff chances the Steelers still has going into today.

Tomlin will have a extension after this year OR he will be gone after this year...No way he will coach next season with us in the last year of his contract...It would be too much a distraction for the steelers and we don't need that

Steelers don't have any business being in the playoffs. I'm convinced they are worse than Commanders, Jets and Panthers. Freakin' terrible.

I hope we lose next week because if we win, he'll 100% put Kenny in bad situation in Seattle. Then again, Tomlin's dumba a$$ will gladly sacrfice Kenny to try and finish with a winning season so he's gonna send him out there at least against Seattle.

7 seasons (counting this season) with no playoff wins. Sadly it would be 13 straight seasons with no playoff wins but Tomlin got 2 straight seasons facing a backup QB in the first round. Typical Tomlin bull **** luck. He would not have survived if it was 13 straight seasons. Before Cowher never went more than 3 seasons. Hell I think in 15 years Cowher only had 8 total seasons without a playoff win. Tomlin has 7 in a row

I agree with this either he goes into next year with a new contract extension or I think they agree to mutually part ways or Tomlin is traded. And at this point with how things have gone the last 3-4 weeks and how they might end up the last 3 weeks of the season how in the hell is Art Rooney gonna justify extending Tomlin. You can’t do it and he shouldn’t do it. It’s time to move on and while it might be something the Rooney’s aren’t used to doing it’s a harsh reality that they are gonna just have to start preparing for and just accept it at this point and deal with.

Justice, equity and inclusion! I guess Mitch is the "inclusion" since nobody else would touch him with a 10 foot pole and Tomln actually installed him without even a competition. Insanity make it stop.

Then why didn't you post that on here? The majority of people thought they would make the playoffs at 7-4, because the schedule wasn't that hard.
