I would agree, but that's not their history, past or recent.

It's not just HCs, we've got more cap money on the defensive side of the ball than any other team in the League. The league has passed up by.

 

Our defense is not that good right now especially against above average offense but yeah we wouldn't be happy if our defense would be in the bottom 5 like our offense has been since 2019.But an offensive coach as head coach did not guarantee that our defense would be bad...Far from that

Our defense isn’t that good because we’ve been decimated by injuries. We literally have guys off the street and practice squads starting. Hell we had Peterson and killebrew playing safety yesterday.

 

Agree. I just wish there was a little less hoping and a lot more developing. I thought very highly of Chase Claypool as he was from my college team and did great things there. Too bad he couldn't develop the way most hoped. JMO>

Our stats in general in defense have often been good in the regular seasonbut against good offense with good coaching team, this defense has been too often exposed in the past, especially in the playoffs and that's the reality

 

What has happened in that time?

 

No playoffs win since 2017 and give up 36 points or more in the last 4 playoffs game

 

It does fall on the players. Look at AB. He went from a late round draft pick that almost got cut because he didn’t know the playbook to a HOF career(obviously he ruined that), but he put in the work. Remember those crazy toe tap catches? He practiced that crap daily.

Pickens has quit on this team. The coaches are allowing it.
He should be inactive or on the bench until he gets his **** together. If he never does and chooses to destroy his career, that's on him. I know it hurts the team too, but it's a means to an end. You can't continue to let a player play when he doesn't even try. That will destroy the culture of a team.

Like I said a few weeks ago. We're losing with pickens in the lineup. We can lose without him just as easily

 

They have 2 WR's far better than him. They aren't trading away their starting QB for an immature WR who so far hasn't shown he's all that good.

 

Agreed...................I saw last night where the Steelers leads the league in diversity (coaches/Coordinators) on their staff......... Maybe Rooney needs to care a lil less abt diveristy and worry abt hiring the right/ best coaches/Coordinators regardless of color

I like Brian Flores. Im nut sure why he was chased out of Miami, he had them on the right path. The only thing is that I don't think Minka cares much for him.

 

Johnson had that one incident with the fumble, but I haven't seen him playing half assed like Pickens.
