I guarantee we would be averaging more than 15 points a game

I heard Mike Greenberg of all people yesterday refer to the Chargers as the San Diego Chargers. Old habits die hard.

I know. I was so happy when they left. Anytime I hear them called that, my ears perk up.

There are so many layers to this story. The guy who wrote it (or spoke it) was the only one, no other real sources. On Dan Patrick another guy who called him said the decision was made earlier in the season, but was still pending on how the team finished the season. So what we really have is nothing at this point, lol. As far as trades, while HC have been traded, it's not as simple as a player trade. The Coach could simply say no and retire, or (depending on contract language) say fire me and just pay me. The league could (and has) stopped such transactions. Unless Bill WANTS to go to a specific team he can just say screw you, and why would he want to go to a team if draft picks (especially number 1 or more) are not there? I think the story may have merit, and Kraft may be looking for a happy ending (heard he has done that), but we won't know till it happens.

San Diego county has been my base since we moved here in '68. It's a much better place since the "Judases", as the local sportswriter calls them, left IMO. Except for the prices......

guess the community could put him in charge of renovating the old stadium, and indeed if the NFL gave a SB to San Diego it would prove something, lol. Seriously I do not know if the Spanos family has enough patience for Bill.

Yes when the team was completely healthy. I do. Now no. A good Qb makes up for bad OL, and players to a degree. Hell everyone calls A. Reid a genius, and He has one of the nest Qb in the league....whats there problem. I'm not a Tomlin fan.....I just don't make up $hit Tomlin does. I can't be more pissed at Him for not taking a field goal yesterday, or for a bunch of stuff, but I don't blame Him when the Qbs throws picks, or people saying He went ,and got Trubisky. That's not even His job. I asks, and ask people on here if Tomlin does everything that they say He does....what the Hell do our GMs do. Hell I wish they would get rid of Tomlin so people could find another scapegoat. People love to do that. Hell Ben was the scapegoat for Canada by many many many people on this board. I'd say a good 80 percent of people that talked about how much they hated Canada are the same people that said Ben was holding Canada's offense back. LoL. Yet they are so correct. LoL

I think he's probably the greatest coach ever and I don't think he's lost the ability to coach, but if I'm Rooney, I bring him in for an interview but I have some questions. I'd want to know what the plan was for the offence. Who would be the OC. What he thought of Pickett and our other playmakers. I have reservations due to how bad the Pats look right now. I definitely would consider him though.

He's about the only defensive coach I would consider. I would prefer an offensive minded coach, preferably a younger guy who's creative and is a strong tactician. The X's and O's are extremely important in football.

I'm all for this reunion, but mainly because San Diego is overdue for a massive earthquake. I don't really have a huge problem with Patricia, but I can't stand the other 2.

edit: I forgot they aren't in San Diego anymore. It will take me 5 more years to stop calling them San Diego Chargers.

I was just thinking what owner would be desperate enough to bring in Belichik. I don't see it. Maybe Jets will take him back. Or Buffalo?

If he parts ways with New England however it happens and still wants to coach, I think he goes to the LA Chargers. He has a QB to build around. There is heat between he and the Jets although I don't recall if Woody Johnson owned the team when they hired him, and then he almost immediately quit and went to the Pats.

That statement he made, few times I have ever said to someone here that they wrote something dumb, that last line was was just that. We may not have went to the SB, but even this year with less than stellar compliments the team still won the division with Mahomes. You can win with good and great surrounding an average QB, but a great QN can can make an average team look really good as well.

I could see that, but Carroll seems a better fit there if they go the route of experienced coach's. Not sure Grumpy Bill fits the LA seen at all, lol.

After Carroll's cheating at the college level, I'm not sure he'd be welcome in L.A.

I can easily see The Band getting back together in L.A. for a reunion tour. Belichick, McDaniels, and Patricia on a 2024 Tour.

You're saying he would be a good fit in New England?
