    You know that for sure???
Or did He stay where He knows everyone, and the system???
Hell people jumped on T. Edmunds, and then traded Him...after We abused Him. People keep Jumping on Dobbs, and they keep letting Him go just as quickly....would that be better???

So throwing 50 times in the rain had nothing to do with it, or the other fumbles by our player not named Mason that day???
I guess You seem to forget He brought them not once, but twice into field goal range, and our players fumbled the ball. If it was Trubisky You'd remember. LoL

I agree on the long ball, his problem seems to be the intermediate passing. Plus the concrete boots he wears in the pocket!
I also agree KFP hasnt shown me nothing to have faith in him. I also think Goldbunny is losing faith in KFP also

He never really tried too much intermediate passing. The line really didn't give him time and that coupled with his unwillingness to take hard hits (who would blame him after getting put in after getting knocked out), he got in a habit of throwing short passes without looking for intermediate routes. We had absolutely no running game then. With no line and no running game, Steeler offense became one dimensional and easy to defend.

I'm against "let's throw him in and see what he can do." This guys was drafted and never given his starting window, like Kenny or even Mitch who was brought in as a free agent.
If the decision was made three years ago after the loss at Browns to never name him the starter, then let's either stick with Kenny for another year, or if the decision that he is taking us nowhere then let's draft a QB and give him his window.

I like Trubisky less than Rudolph for sure. I am with you that something about him just seems off.....he has those beady dark eyes. He reminds me of the villain in every B movie with no personality and nobody likes him........and on top of that, his skill as a QB is no good.

Unfortunately, Rudolph is not much different as a QB. The Steelers have an injured QB1 who is seeming to be mediocre right now.....and they don't really have a QB2, they sort of skip to having co QB3s......lol

I agree with you. Rudolph has had many chances to take over and has never been able to capitalize on those chances. Despite his sucking as a QB, he is tough. I think I would rather have Rudolph at my side over any past Steelers QB in a fight......lol

Remember, in 2019 Big Ben was injured and Mason started most of the season. Nothing great during that chance (10 starts in 2019), but certainly no worse than Trubisky is doing now. My vote for the future would be to let Trubisky go, keep Rudolph on the cheap, draft a high QB, and go into rebuild mode for a year or two......except that the Steelers redid the Trubisky contract to take him thru the 2025 season earlier this year, so now they are probably stuck with him.

Next year will be rough on us moneywise. The Steelers do not have the money to go out and get anyone. This year, we have about 2.7 million left on the cap. As of right now, we are sitting at more than 6 million in the red for 2024. Just on 3 players (Ogunjobie, Fitzpatrick, and Highsmith), we are looking at about a 31 million increase salary cap owed (compared to 2023). Almost 90 million going to 4 players, those 3 and TJ. I think that they are worth the money, but it is going to make it hard to get quality in 2024. Everything is going to have to come out of the draft, some really good horse trading, or some serious restructuring of existing contracts. Like most stats for the Steelers, we are at the bottom of the list, coming in at 24th out of 32 for available salary cap in 2024.

We have a great defense and will have those same guys back next year. It sure would be nice to have even a mediocre offense to go with that defense. This next off season, we have to give our offense some love if we ever hope to go anywhere.

The 2023 draft was a QB rich draft. No one was looking to bring in a back-up to keep the seat warm while they groomed their rookie QB. If Mason had a full season or more games under his belt with a playoff win or two, then he may very well have been picked up. This off season, he may very well be picked up by another team as a back-up.

It is comical how so many blame Canada for Pickett's poor play and development. Then Mason who played well up until his knockout concussion takes a hit for a tie game under Canada. Additionally, Ben kept his positive Covid test quiet until late Saturday. Mason got the call roughly 11PM for his 1PM Sunday start. IMO it goes to show Ben's wish for other QBs who followed him to play poorly and for the team in general to not have continued success without him. While Ben never admitted it when it came to Mason, he admitted he initially didn't want Kenny to do well.

I hope Mason gets the chance and plays to the level anticipated when he was drafted. You hit it on the head with his maturity level. That maturity level may be the leadership trait needed on the offensive side of the ball to influence players such as Pickens.

I don't know how it will be moving forward but for the New England game, McSorley was designated the emergency third quarterback. That means he can only enter the game if there is injury to the first two quarterbacks. Meaning, if he is the emergency quarterback, they can't just bench Trubisky and Rudolph to get to McSorley. Am I correct on this?

Hanratty ended up getting a "save" in Superbowl X against the Cowboys. Bradshaw was knocked out cold early in the fourth quarter and Hanratty had to finish the game. Chuck Noll made sure that he didn't pass the ball and he just handed off to Franco and Rocky to finish the game that the Steelers held on to win 21-17.

He has a weaker arm than both Trubisky and Pickett. His deep ball is good due to the touch he puts on it, not his arm strength.

We have no idea if he plays loose now because he hasn't taken a meaningful snap in the NFL since 2021.

Rudolph had more good seasons in college, but by the ends of their careers, Pickett was better.

Much of your premise is based on, as you put it, a game and a half in 2019, four years ago. That is a comically-small sample size. The one good full game came against an atrocious Bengals team.. Go back and watch that game. He took a bunch of wide-open throws underneath and the Bengals couldn't do a think about it because their linebacking corps was horrid. The part of the game he played against the Ravens was impressive, but it wasn't even a full game.

Rudolph has had some bad luck, but he hasn't shown that he can be a good NFL quarterback. It was telling that no team in the league wanted him as their back up when he was a free agent.

Do you really think he passed on a chance to be the No. 2 quarterback somewhere else so he could be No. 3 for the Steelers? He would likely be condemning himself to another season of not playing. Why would you want a guy who would make such a choice?

I would want him , to be sure whether or not he is better than what we got. Rag on him without giving him a chance to show if he has what it takes to win just to keep mith happy is wrong in every way. If benching mikes boy gets both of them to leave is a win as much as giving Rudolf on last shot is the right thing to do .It is what the chief would do and just might work out real good. Nothing to lose but much to be gained.

Charlie alluded to the fact Mason may not be the best contributor in quarterback meetings

When Mitch twice had offensive team meetings at his place in Florida’s Mason was twice a no show

When Ben walked off the field the first person he went to was the number 3 quarterback Dobbs

When Kenny walks of the field Mason is no where to be found

Last home game when Mitch walked off the field Mason was hanging out with the kicker

Mason should not be started he should not be brought back next year

Muck Fason he’s a pouty brat no wonder his girlfriend dumped his ass

This start Mason foolishness needs to end
