Because coaches coach. Are You actually this slow, or are You playing. Nobody said You have to like Tomlin, or like how He coaches, but instead of being uneducated about it....know what He(HC) , the Owner (President of operations), and GMs actually do. It bothers me not a bit when people get mad on game day for His actual coaching, but it make Me laugh at the people blaming Him because the Qb threw long on a 4th, and 2 for example....like there is only one route. LoL

You say GMs have more power and then immediately point out that Cowher pushed his GM out the door. Pick nits that he threatened to walk if the organization didn't fire the GM. It's still the same thing. The HC was considered more valuable than the GM.

And this was at a time when Cowher was getting roasted for not winning AFC Championship games. My, how standards have fallen.

Multiple coordinators have fallen on the sword. Our last GM is gone. Austin is still available to be a sacrificial lamb. But sooner or later, you're going to have to look at Tomlin. He's the only damned common denominator.

Cowher didn't push $hit the Rooneys did. Did You even read what I posted about GMs , and their jobs???
Dude You can blame anyone You want. I see it all the time in life, and You can hate all You want it's Your live, but wouldn't a sensible person want to know what they are mad at ,and why??
Also I don't say that's what GMs do....that's what the NFL says GMs do.

Oh please. It was a war between the HC and GM. The Rooneys sided with Cowher. Same. Damned. Thing.

But you know, forget it. Head Coaches are blameless in everything. Call the Hall of Fame and remove all coach busts. They had no affect on their team. No point in commemorating them.

We know why they are doing it, but we just don’t have the roster to pull it off well. It got pieced together with bubblegum and paperclips, looking at the players they brought in.

They are going to need a draft where they heavily invest in the position.

BTW, this wasn’t because of injuries, this is something they have been doing since the season started.

They are doing this because the league is just going that way with the pass game, and they are admitting their failure of finding capable 3 down ILB’s.

Clearly hate has You not thinking Clearly. Take a deep breath. Again You appear to not have read what a GM in the NFL actually does. Why are You so mad that You can't just be mad at His coaching, but You want to be mad at him for things He doesn't even do. If it rains tomorrow.....will it be Tomlins fault also????
LoL. Take a breath....on through the nose, out through the mouth. LoL Hell I blame Him for plenty. Like going for it on 4th down on the goal....the 1st play the backup Qb comes in. What I don't do is make up $hit to blame Him for. I guess I have never disliked someone so much I felt the need.

You’re accusing us of being misinformed and you don’t know the difference between personnel department and a coaching staff.

Coaches build their own staff, this is really common knowledge and embarrassing that you don’t know this. You’ve never seen new coaches letting the current staff go and bring in their own people?

I'm not the one trying to deflect. Every time someone expresses discontent with Tomlin, you have to point at everyone but him. I don't care about the new GM. And we all knew Colbert had to go. It doesn't excuse Tomlin with the sorry state of this team. Undisciplined, unprepared, sloppy, underachieving, no identity, and no apparent effort to fix any of it. If Tomlin put his hand on a hot stove, he'd burn it off. I'm not pulling back. This is who we are.

But you also spent the first half of the season trying to excuse Canada while arguing your weren't trying to excuse Canada. So, whatever.

Just pointing out your silliness. QB’s responsible for everything, coaches do nothing.

No. There is no possible way a head coach doesn't hire his assistants. I don't believe that. NO ONE in charge of an organization should be saddles with that stricture. There are reasons people hired coaches that served under other HCs. Most time I don't think it works out but it's because of their close association with that HC. Not buying what you're selling here at all

Nope. Tomlin never makes mistakes. He always has this team coached up and ready to play. If only he'd had a good QB his whole career he could have won more. But he makes no mistakes and gives no reason for criticism. His time is done. That's all

He’s wrong. He’s right in the fact that GMs could do that, they’re the coaches boss after all but they don’t do it because it’s counter productive.

Much smarter to let the coach assemble his own staff.

There are exceptions of course. LeBeau for instance, Tomlin had to keep him. And then there was Haley but in general, the coach picks and chooses who he wants.
