I too wonder if Pickett is on this team because of Marino. I do believe it played a part even if a very small part. Must admit I played around with it in my head.

Hey, I've told this story on here before but if you never saw it here is your daily chuckle. True story: I went to same HS as Dan Marino. Central Catholic. He started as I graduated. No internet truth back then. I use to tell the ladies that Dan broke my QB records at Central:) I tried it as a pick up line and must be honest, the ladies didn't care.

I don't think Marino had anything to do with them picking Pickett. They were desperate for a QB, and Pickett was arguably the best QB in a very weak QB draft class

How do you know another coach wouldn’t do better?

Cowher built some phenomenal teams. His teams had a ton of depth and were loaded and played hard. His issue was he was weak at the one position that could take the team over the top which was QB. I will say though it was time for the change when Cowher stepped down but I think it was more about his personal desire for the game at that time and what was going on in his personal life that impacted the change. I still think Tomlin is a great coach but at this moment for this team I don’t think he us the guy to get us out of this rut.

Neither for or against him. I am for the Steelers.
How long have we been tryin to fix the defense against the run? Say, 17 years or so, yeah?

Few days ago I awoke in a cold sweat with the realization my beloved Steelers are now the PIRATES! Bring me who’s responsible for this this…

I want to see your Lamar Jackson receipt. I believe you, but I want to see the proof.

Noll said something about practicing and perfecting the simple routine stuff was the surest way to consistency and success. I don’t see that with Tomlin. I think hes big on rallying the team when no one expects them to win but also has no respect for teams with lesser won loss records (which the team has shown too many times on the field). That, is not the Steelers way, and I’ve never liked about Tomlin’s style.

Timmons and Farrior were threats at times to rush the passer, we used to send CB like Mike Hilton on blitzes for the last 30 years.

This defense is bland...bottom half of the league.

Tomlin is not getting fired so as others have said, coaching appointments in the offseason are going to be critical. I really hope they put an experienced and creative offensive coaching staff in place to support KFP. A better scheme may work wonders. Even an average offence would be a revelation at this stage.

Im not sure Mike T has lost the locker room either, but it’s clear that morale is low among certain players, particularly on the offence. You could hardly blame them, they have not been put in position to succeed and are frustrated.

He hasn't lost the locker room, but the WR room is a different story.

If Tomlin is not retiring or leaving be prepared for year after year of failure. The new standard.

the one thing that will give me joy is knowing Tomlin ruined your life and will be living rent free in your head until your last breath. I’ll dance a jig naked in the streets if he torments you for eternity in hell.

lol it was along time ago but yea it happened. I went to see him play many times and because of being Louisville alumni I naturally wanted him. I put it out there and people said I was nuts. Then I had to endure him going to the Ravens! I sat through that draft with fingers crossed hoping he didn’t go and he didn’t. Then we passed and the ravens got him with the last pick in the first round from a pick they got via trade.

I just think there are a lot more problems than the coach. I’m not saying you’re wrong and I’m right, just to me they have to address the QB first.

You could be right, I just hope they don’t make a snap judgement and grab who is available like they did with Pickett. And the last thing we need is an interim coach.

I hear you but it is so hard to evaluate the players when the coaching is failing not just on the field but in the locker room as well. I think if you have a solid foundation, culture and scheme with solid coaching you will maximize your players talents. Look at Joe Flacco he went to the Jets and did not Play well and was out the league. He goes to Cleveland off the couch and does fairly well, at least better than any of our QB’s have done all season. The Browns now have some stability and a solid system in place. So in NY was it the Jets, the culture, the coaching, the system or scheme or players or was it Flacco? I think if you put KP in San Francisco he has a similar arch in development and growth to Purdy. Maybe not as good as Purdy but certainly better than here. We need to fix the coaching before we draft another QB. We have not showed an ability to develop a QB under Tomlin. Ben was already brimming with confidence when Tomlin came along. Ben also had a style that transcended poor coaching and game plans because he improvised and played backyard football. That defiantly is not who KP is. KP needs stability and a solid system around him. I am not saying I like KP but if you bring any high pedigree draft pick in here at QB our style is going to break them. Asking a QB to play conservative and not turn the ball over and let the defense win the game is never a vote of confidence for a QB. It isn’t a healthy way to instill confidence in the QB and help them develop. We need to throw that philopshy out and be a more attack style of offense. I just don’t know if Tomlin is comfortable with that style unless he has a veteran QB he trusts.

Tomlin seems to be a guy that has underachieved with superior talent and overachieved with lesser talent. Even despite all of the plethora of flaws this team has, it is somehow sitting at 7-6 and just might squeeze out a 9-8 record. I'm very doubtful that it happens but ya never know until it's kicked off. Saturday is going to be a major sign if this team quit or not. After struggling like that have in the past, this is the type of game the team suddenly pulls out a win. If they lose and lose badly, I'd say this team quit... if they pull a win out their arse, then there's still a lot of fight left in them.
