Regardless of if that streak continues or is brought to an end, a change on the sidelines should not be expected in Pittsburgh. Tomlin is not seriously seen by any member of the organization as being on the hot seat, Dianna Russini of the Athletic reports (subscription required). The 51-year-old is currently in his 17th season at the helm of the Steelers.

    This one is legendary.
Even the Waterboy wants to win a Super Bowl.
I cannot fathom an interview that goes something like:
"Well, we won't win a Super Bowl, or a Playoff game, but we'll perpetually be .500"
And Owner says " Wow, that's great. Sign right here on the dotted line and we'll back up a dump truck full on cash."

As Michale Irvin says, "Come On Man!"

So you are happy with the Steelers and the last 13 years? That what I thought. Talk about Pathetic. All you do is defend a guy who is clearly terrible at his job and call the rest of us out for speaking the truth. Carry on

What difference does it make what I say? According to you I’m happy. Considering the source it’s probably a good idea for you to look in the mirror before claiming someone is terrible at their job.

If I put up his results my firm would have fired me years ago! We don’t celebrate mediocrity and 3 wins in 13 years :lolol:

don't you not think he sat at the table and had significant input? And after 2 awful seasons with MC, don't you think he has the nuts to sit with Rooney in January last year and say "make a change"?

If not , he needs to SPEAK UP and LEAD. He does neither well, IMO. or he is completely CLUELESS, or fat, rich and content with his riches (which I think is part of the problem - not HUNGRY)

we have a coach that is all defensive and conservative minded. is it 2023, not 2003.

    MOVE ON.......

There's only two active coaches that have won multiple SBs. Neither one would be able to boast that without a Allstar QB. Give him a superstar QB or at minimum one that can do better than 1 to 1 TD to interception ratio and I bet he could. Yall swear to God Tomlin doing so much worse then the rest of the coaches in the league and yet can't even point to a handful of coaches that are doing any better.

The board's server started doing shots every time a new Tomlin thread popped up after the Patriot loss and crashed by midnight and was hungover for three days after.

On the Pirate Boards we blame the GM way more then the Coach. Tomlin should look into coaching the Pirates.

The irony of labeling something pathetic. How pathetic is it to go to the lengths you have to minimize Tomlins playoff wins?? Does he really livebthat much rent free in your head? A win is a win is a win. If the Steelers win the SB ugly and an opposing fan (I.e. Seahawks fan) says the officiating helped the Steelers win the SB are you as forthcoming to admit as such?? or is your attitude that you don't leave the game in the hands of the referees and that 1 or 2 calls dont determine the outcome of the game? Or luck is just as much a part of the game as proper execution? I guarantee youre a hypocrite, but you won't admit it to save face.

Hey, how about this. When you have seen your OC’s call for 1 yard passes when you need 8 on 3rd down you step up and override there call, I mean you have only seen that it hasn’t worked for 3 years now. Or how about see a LB not being able to cover a TE, you yank him and see if someone else can.

Well how about this ...you would have a point 1) if they had drafted or brought in talent that was good enough to cover a TE. Name one since Ryan Shazier?? You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip so I don't know where you're going with that comment unless you just started watching the team yesterday. It seems anger is misdirected. You can always start a thread bashing the GM for once. Isn't the GM the one responsible for bringing in talent to put on the field or am I mistaken about that??

    2) you're not really dumb enough to believe that receivers running short, or QBs throwing short of the sticks on 3rd down is a Tomlin issue? This is first of all a football IQ issue which several of the players seem to lack (most importantly the QBs).
We've also seen plays where the QB chose to go deep on 3rd and 4th and 2. I can't tell you what's going through the heads of these players on the field, but I dont need a coach to tell me where the first down marker is or how to go hot on my route when I know the defense is likely to come with a blitz on a 3rd or 4th and 2 call. Why is it that dumb azz Trubisky thought it was a good idea on a 3rd and 2 and a 4th and 2 to go long on both downs when anyone with God given sense would have just taken what the defense gave them and lived to see additional downs is beyond me??

The most coaching can do is remind the players what they should all already be privy too. The play calling definitely is an issue but I don't know how much the head coach knows concerning the specifics of a route tree in regards to every single play a offense has. That would seem to be taxing on a head coach to know every single play design both offensively and defensively and I doubt that's how that works unless the head coach is calling the offense or defense.

It was obvious that just one LB couldn’t cover the TE. Maybe you say, hey Austin, what we are doing is not working. However I will say that it was fixed in the 2nd half.

And yes Tomlin should have the authority to tell his players, that the 1 yard passes when 8 yards are needed needs to stop. He has seen they don’t work MULTIPLE times a game for how many years now?

I know MT is a defensive minded coach, but he has been in the league long enough to understand the concept of an offense. He can override play calls. But he does nothing. Same as he does nothing when receivers play half @ssed.

And no I didn’t just start watching yesterday. Been a fan since I was 5 years old in the 70’s

This defense is starting to lean on the three safety look instead of ILB's ... that is great and all, but you better be deep as hell at the position. How many drafts is it gonna take to make that work?

I hate how ILB is getting neutered on this team, I guess that is a league wide issue though.

I kinda prefer the style of play of years gone by.

I guarantee you are a Tomlin nut hugger but will you admit it? Let’s take the quality of the win out of the equation. You impressed by 3 total playoff wins in 13 years? Cue the excuses….
