None of this matters if the Steelers don't get their heads out of their asses. The margin of error was already thin with healthy linebackers and Pickett at quarterback. Now it is a razor's edge.

Remember, Watt and Highsmith are both in the concussion protocol. If Watt can't go Sunday, the Steelers are done. They might be able to overcome the absence of Highsmith. Maybe.

The game is on Saturday, so Watt and Highsmith have 1 day less than usual to recover.

Ugh. I knew that. My morning has been one brain cramp after another today.

They still have over a week, but it's not good. My larger concern is that it seems like Watt was allowed to play with a concussion. How was that missed, especially when he spent time in the blue tent during the game?

Everyone hopeful that the Week 18 game won't matter for the Ravens, that's unlikely. KC is probably winning out with that schedule so they'll get to 11-5 and would hold the tiebreaker over the Ravens. So the only way the week 18 game won't matter is if the Ravens win the next 3. Not real confident that is happening. If the Ravens go 2-1 in the next 3 (assuming they win the Jags and Dolphins games, and lose to the 49ers), they'd be playing for the 1 seed in week 18.

Likely won't matter to the Steelers by then, but if it did - ugh....

We badly need at least one playoff game for further Pickett review but I'm afraid we blew it in epic fashion.

The sad part is that all they had to do was win 2 games at home vs 2 of the worst teams in the league, and they'd be sitting pretty to make the playoffs. Hell, maybe even just one of those wins would get them in. I still thinks it's funny that we have the same record as the Bills. They would be double digit favorites against us.

No, they did not luck into their victories. They made the necessary plays on defense, avoided mistakes on offense, and hung on at the end. That they inexplicably failed to show up the last two weeks doesn't change that. The injuries, however, are a good reason to think they won't win enough going forward. The losses at inside linebacker are having a big effect and they are facing the possibility of going to Indy without Watt and Highsmith.

They really only needed the game against the Patriots to be in great shape. If they had won both, it would have taken an epic collapse to keep them out. That is the real indictment of Tomlin. He didn't have his team ready to go Thursday and he was badly outcoached by Belichick.

I really would be surprised if the Steelers win another game this year. It sure seems like most of them have checked out for the season.

I think the 3 WC teams will be the Browns, Broncos and Bills.

It isn't hard to see why. Their route trees look they were designed by someone who never has won a single game of TIC TAC TOE.

The answer for the Steelers to get in Playoffs is move to the NFCS. We'd have a 1 game lead there;)

Whoever wins that division will be playing a real strong WC.
