Isn't that the truth! There is talk that the Lions might fire their head coach because the owner doesn't like the image that he has given the team. Very interesting piece on Sportscenter this morning with Hoge and Jaws talking about head coaches, GM's and Owners.

You think he will come in to be a receiver/TE coach?

Naw Chad don't you remember this is gpguy he doesn't want talk in the main forum about anyone who is not a Steeler and doesn't directly affect the team. Post like this force really meaningful ones from the front page requiring him to click to page two to find something else to read. That takes alot of energy.

The OC didn't finish 8-8, Tomlin did.

Man it would be sweet to get Russ back as o-line coach, but I hear he is interviewing for the Bills HC job...

This was not posted to suggest in any way that the Steelers should re-hire Whiz. In fact, I almost added a tag line saying "please don't start the "FTHI and hire Whiz" posts," but decided to just leave that be.

I posted because as a Steelers fan, it is somewhat interesting to me to see how things are going with former Steelers coaches and players, and I know some others here feel the same.

In Tomlins presser, he was asked of his evaluation of Haley, he said:

8-8 like all of us. 8-8 OC and I was an 8-8 head coach.

    I love that answer.

Maybe Whiz ends up in NY as the Jets OC. They just can't keep going with Sporanos, unless he was already canned along w/Tannenbaum. I think he's solely an OC candidate at this point as I don't think he gets any of the openings out there.

I think Whiz will get another HC gig, he does have a SB appearance on his resume, came real close to winning it too.

Yep, they built a promising team out there, they just had no QB and no Oline. Injuries also killed hurt them. Ryan Williams and Beanie Wells kept getting injured. Give that team a QB and they're a contender. It's hard to put it all on the coaching staff, but in the end, they are responsible. He'll definitely get some consideration for HC jobs out there

Even if we were 2-14 on paper, Tomlin would have convinced us we were 14-2. I'm surprised he hasn't convinced the NFL that we did in fact make the playoffs. If only he could coach as well as he talks, we'd be undefeated every single year.
