How the hell did none of us watching notice that he was wearing a cast on his hand?

I haven’t noticed Minkah all year to be quite honest.

That's because you can't see past splash plays. Fitzpatrick has been stuck doing the dirty work all year. He has been fantastic against the run. He has been stuck in man coverage more than he should be. He is stuck playing like a strong safety far too much of the time because that is where this team needs him.

Been a hard year for Fitz, banged up with the Hamstring.

Gonna be forced to come up in run defense a lot more with a severely hurt ILB core.

    Broken had now.

I feel like we will see a big play out of him at some point.

We just got used to it all the time, and I feel the injuries have left him far less than normal self.

Sure. Might want to start by spelling his name right. Minkah hasn’t been outstanding while on the field but he is not a dud either.

True, but strong safeties can still make splash plays. They can still force turnovers. Minkah is doing more dirty work than he should be, but he is also having a down year. He's not playing nearly as well as last year

I disagree. He is being asked to do different things from last year. Also, of course, he missed all of four games and most of a fifth.

I hadn't seen this on the board, but Tomlin said if Roberts can't play, Fitzpatrick would have the green dot tonight instead of one of the other inside linebackers.

Yeah he doesn't have a choice. Robinson is not ready. Why he made the 53 if they don't have him ready to step up is a question (ST and emergency reps I guess)

The other guys just came in the building a few weeks ago.

True. Walker had to do it last week and that did not work.

I thought the savior Mike T always talked about “splash plays” though??

    So now they don’t matter.

I thought the same thing. How did nobody notice the injury?

By all means, find a post in which I implied Tomlin was a savior or anything like that. I first called for them to move on from him in 2018. I think he has done a decent job with some flawed rosters since then and he is a coach, but I still think there is a great argument to be made for getting rid of him.

That said, show me where I wrote that splash plays don't matter. I'll give you a hint. I never wrote that. What I wrote is that people criticizing Fitzpatrick's play this season can't see past splash plays to appreciate what he is doing.

I did not mean you in particular called him a savior but many on this board will not blame him for anything yet he always says how important splash is.

Minkah is supposed to be a superstar having 0 INTs 0FF 0FR on the season is pathetic I don’t care what role he is supposed to be filling. Make a play.

He has made them, but mostly stopping the run. He has never been a guy who forced many fumbles. He has been in man coverage a lot more than normal, which is cutting into his interceptions.
