Mitch Trubisky it's time to step up

Probably Mitch's last shot at proving if he can be a starter. I hope we see his best. Whether his best is good enough is another subject.

This is probably Mitch's last chance to be a Steeler winner or just be a loser

 

Well the next 4 games will say a lot about Mitch. If he's good, then why not continue to roll with him as the backup? Especially if he goes 3-1 or 4-0 in these games? Now if he's trash, then I'd say move on.

Its actually almost a blessing and a curse that Kenny is out. It sucks because it takes away from Canada-less time, but Kenny isn't going to magically improve in-season. We weren't getting NFL caliber play from him about 3/4ths of the time, so we really won't lose a lot production wise to have Mitch in his place. Its nice that we get to have a bit of an audition for Mitch to keep his job next year. If he's great, awesome. We have a good back up. If he's trash we can cut him and spend that money elsewhere.

 

Some reason the title of this thread made me think of that song, "we got high hopes, we got high hopes, high in the sky hopes".

Know this, if the Raven game in week 18 has meaning for us Mitch must have done something right.

 

For everything they need after this season, Mitch proving he'd be worth keeping is the best case scenario.

 

Now that's just crazy talk but I like the confidence

Little sad when we have to hope hard our QB can get us at least 1 TD. I really feel we can win the defensive battle this game will end up being. Now should we win or L word 34-30 I'm hiding from you.

If by some miracle Mitch does really good the rest of the games, he should be our starter again.

 

At least he wont be looking over his shoulder like he did at the beginning of last year. KP wont be back for a month and MR wont come in unless its a complete disaster or an injury.

 

If Mitch has it, now is the time to prove. For as bad as Kenny has been, we’re in the playoffs spot right now. Mitch must play well enough to maintain that.

For Kenny, some time on the bench in a non-benching reason could be a good thing.

I hope Mitch can read a defense.

 

Think about it, Mitch will be playing for his football life over the next few weeks. This is a tremendous opportunity for him to resurrect his career. He’s the starting quarterback for a team right square in the middle of the playoff hunt. I hope he uses that as motivation and plays lights out. This may be his last real chance to show what he’s capable of. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds.
