I can guarantee you that Mitch won't throw 6 against the Patriots maybe 6 interceptions though.

Not the point , point is Mitch has multiple nfl starts with 2 or more TD’s passing in a game the messhia Kenny Pickett has only done that like once or twice in his career ,, that’s not cool

edit: Mike tomlin is that u ?

lol , Picket got less picks than joshnallen , does that mean pickit is better Qb

I doubt it would be a two-to-four-week injury if a ligament was torn that badly. I am curious about what it could be for him to have a chance to return so quickly.

Who's available on the FA market right now?

Trubisky stinks and I've seen enough of Rudolph to know he's not much better.

They're both below average NFL QB's. Heck 40 year old Joe Flacco who was lying on the couch and out of the league for a year threw multiple TD's and 250 yards today.

With all due respect to Kenny, I don’t think there’s much, if any, drop off with Mitch. You have an experienced mediocre backup replacing a mediocre starter. As far as prospects for this year, the difference is minimal.

The main issue if Pickett is lost for the yr, is that you’ve lost 5 games of development and evaluation.

Because it's the only way to change the current state of this franchise.

Not saying Mitch is good, he's not, but he's not turnover prone. He's historically been a very safe QB who doesn't turn the ball over.

This exactly. I know people want to love Pickett but I just dont' see it. He's shown almost nothing. Mitch can do anything KP has done. There's not going to be a drop off. We're losing time to assess him for next year though, although I fully expect him to start next year no matter what. That's how this franchise roles.

Possibly on the interception part, but it can't get much worse. We average 180 yards passing and like 16 ppg... There really isn't a world where we get much worse.

Joe Flacco has the same number of 2 TD games this year as Kenny has had in his career... Joe Flacco rolled off his couch in retirement a week or so before game day. Let that sink it.

This is also true. I wanted to assess the last 6 without Canada, but we've seen enough. He's started 24 NFL games... I get it can take guys a while to develop, but he hasn't at all. If he showed any life at all I'd be cool rolling with him for next year... but he hasn't. He can't read defenses at an NFL level, he's 100% lost pre-snap, he lacks poise in the pocket. These are things that get better with reps, or they don't. A new OC isn't going to unlock these talents.

There will be no noticeable drop off with Mitch. We're gonna throw for maybe 200 yards and score probably 16ish PPG. Its what we've had every game since Kenny has been in 180 yards, 16 points.

I honestly don't think we'll see much of a difference. Trubisky just has to guard against trying to do too much.

He's shown just as much ability to run the offense well in Pittsburgh as Kenny has. Why not? He actually played pretty well in relief a few times last year too. He certainly is playing for his future with the team though. Probably has a home NE game, home Cincy game and Indy on the road. Gotta win at least 2 of those.

I am...but I've said from the beginning he was fool's gold. I've also said he's the best backup QB in the league. He just doesn't know it yet.

Good point. Why not call up Ben? Seriously, we could do a lot worse, and probably will

You really think 1 losing season would do it? Noll had 7 losing seasons. Cowher had 3 and one 8-8 season. You think the Rooneys are going to change out Tomlin over ONE losing season?

    You're misunderstanding.

Who is saying, "I'm crushed, Kenny the Magnificent can't play. What will we do if we can't score 14 points a game under his, oh so god da** impressive command?!"

I just saw a replay of the injury and Pickett didn't have to run. For once, one of those plays where they clear out and someone slips into the flat worked. Austin was open for a walk-in touchdown.
