Yea they got damn lucky today the Browns lost to the Rams and Indy winning today actually helped them too cause they own the tiebreaker over the Texans which keeps them out of the playoffs currently and the Texans as we know own the head to head over the Steelers. So they got lucky and dodged a bullet this week and today if you lose to the Patriots Thursday night you aren’t gonna be so lucky next week.

The problem is the Steelers play the Seahawks and Ravens still.

The Colts, Texans and Browns don't play 2 games as tough as that.

Plus the Steelers have to play @ Colts.

The Steelers gave away their advantage today with their poor play.

Injuries may be the biggest challenge here.

Yep despite today's ****show the Steelers are still #5 seed. Losing to an NFC team today didn't really hurt us that bad.

Save the embarrassment of being in the playoffs. At this point I’m not sure I could even get excited for the game. I wasn’t able to watch the game today but it sounded pretty bad from just checking the game day thread from time to time.

Steelers lose to Colts, Seahawks and Ravens and finish 10-7, they're more than likely out. Better than a 50-50 chance they lose all of them, probably better than 60-40 they lose them.

Colts beat Steelers, Raiders and Bengals - they'd have 10 wins and hold the tiebreaker
Texans beat Jets and Titans twice - they'd have 10 wins and hold the tiebreaker
Browns beat Jets, Bears and Bengals - they'd have 10 wins and hold the tiebreaker (Common games)

Steelers have to get to 11 and today more likely than not that they will.

We just lost at home to a 2-10 team, you are going to be lucky to find another win on the schedule this year.

Steeler odds of playoffs dropped from over 80% before today to 54%.

Texans, Colts and Browns all more probable than the Steelers now.

It's going to be tough for the Steelers to get 10 wins, 11 is out of the question. This team isn't making the playoffs and they shouldn't really.

Wasn't making the case they would, but simply replying to people that think today's loss didn't hurt them because they're still at #5. They're going to need to win at least 2 more games and additionally either beat the Colts or Ravens to hold a tiebreaker.

That isn't probable. They're in big trouble both micro (this year's playoffs) and Macro (franchise wise).

I agree - that's my point - they flushed a playoff spot, which I agree would have been a blowout loss anyways.

7-4 with this finishing schedule to out of the playoffs should result in Tomlin being gone. It won't, so nothing will change.

It’s fools gold to be rooting for this team to make the Playoffs anyway. What exactly are they gonna accomplish if they get there?

Can you imagine this team vs Miami?

I'd be fine having them lose the next 5 if I knew it would end Tomlin's run as HC.

It would be a disaster. I would rather face any other team. This is one of the more frustrating Steeler Teams to watch. They have been rebuilding for a few years now and I had hope for this team. I thought we were a lot closer than we appear to be at the beginning of the season.

still seem to have a lot of holes and honestly I’m ready for the Steelers to make a change and get rid of Tomlin. If they could trade him I would be all for it.

We'll get a playoff game - the Colts game is pretty close to a playoff game. If they beat Pats, Colts, Bengals, they're probability to get in is 93%, even with losses to Seattle and Baltimore. If they lose to the Colts, it drops to 26% chance of getting in.

But getting in is nothing of value because it would simply lower the draft position and give ownership no reason to move on from Tomlin.

Looking at the remaining games, if Pitt gets to 10 wins, they’ll probably get in. If they get to 10 wins and beat Indy they’ll almost certainly get in.

They’d have the tiebreak over Indy. It’s hard to see Den, LAC or LV getting more than 10 wins since they all play each other. The Bills are at KC, at MIA, at LAC and Dallas at home, getting to 10 wins would be big achievement, and if they do they’ll have at best a 7-5 conf record.

if there are no AFCW teams ahead of them, and if they finish ahead or win a tie vs Buff. The only way a 10-7 Pitt is left out is if Indy, Hou and Cle beat them out. And Cle is starting Flacco. Beat Ne, Indy and Cincy and it’s hard to see them missing the Playoffs.

Houston is getting to 10, probably above it.
Cleveland gets to 10 and are tied with the Steelers, they'll move ahead of the Steelers (unless the Steelers beat the Ravens) because division and conference record probably will be tied and Cleveland will win the common opponent tiebreaker.

So then it comes down to the Colts - if the Steelers beat them, they'll hold the tiebreaker.

The problem is with multiple 10-7 ties, they break division tiebreakers first and the Browns will hold that pushing the Steelers into 3 way ties, which may negate the conference record.

This same team beat the Ravens. We lost to a really bad team, but are just as likely to march into a good teams house and beat them. Its just how Tomlin coached teams roll. We will win again. We will probably miss the playoffs unless we win the right games, but we will still win some games. Bengals and New England suck hard. The Seahawks and Colts are just meh. Ravens are good. We will still win 2-3 of them.

The Steelers can finish no better than 9-8 if they lose to the Colts, Seahawks, and Ravens. They are going to have to beat one of those teams to get to 10 victories now, which seems very unlikely after today's run of injuries. I think they could have survived a stinker today, but not with even more key players lost.

Steelers have done a poor job of building that QB room.
Don’t see how they can win any game , especially with the Defense so depleted.

I agree if they win those 3 games they are 10-7 with an 8-4 conference record that will get them either the 6th or 7th seed at the worst. Even if Indy finishes 10-7 they would own the tiebreaker and most likely if the Browns finish 10-7 they would win the tiebreaker there as well.
