Running from the shotgun when you are trying to get one yard isn't great, but you are right. The spot was terrible. That is why I initially didn't hate going for it, I thought the ball was going to be inches away and they could sneak it. Instead, they placed it just outside the one. Sorry, but with this offense, you kick the ball there. Tomlin made it even worse by calling those time-outs in hopes of getting the ball back. It just made things easier on the Cardinals.

 

I'd personally like to see him look visibly angered or fired up a bit instead of acting like an emotionless NPC.

I was wondering the same thing earlier. He might be on suicide watch. Hard to tell though, since he blocked me for some reason.

I take your point, but I have to disagree, the problem wasn't Trubisky it was a bad call and awful line play.

There's a lot to be said (usually) for that if you fail you're pinning them on the 1, in this case, it backfired in specatular fashion. Not often going to be case. I just think there's a lot more upside than downside in that particular scenario, even today considering the challenged offense.

 

I don't know what an NPC is but, why? What would change?

It’s why I don’t have any faith in Pickett. Can’t read the defense at an NFL level. Completely lost pre-snap, doesn’t feel pressure, has accuracy issues because he has no poise in the pocket bc his processing is too slow… he’s started enough games for it to be a huge issue that he hasn’t improved here. This isn’t something a coordinator will help a lot with, the play calling and scheme gets better… but not the execution.
