    This. 100%.
If You do something because the team feels like it should....you do it after the seasons over. Doing it now will only hurt the team.

Totally agree, and if it was thrown a bit better....it would have been a easy HS catch.

The pass being off target seems to have gotten lost.

The really weird part if you watch the sights and sounds video is that you see him congratulating guys on the sideline after the play happened and when he had that big reception down the sideline Minkah is right there on the sideline giving him props and DJ was celebrating with him. So as bad as it looks in that moment, the rest of the game he was a team player.

I contrast this guy with santonio who was A+ clutch and I will always feel he was sacrificed to send a message vs Ben who was their franchise QB. In a tight spot I don't always trust DJ will come down with the ball, his drops always seem to be at the worst time. He many not have the # of drops you might think but its when they are that always seems to be a killer. He's supposed to be our #1 guy and I would say Ward had better hands, Holmes had better hands, AB had better hands, Sanders had better hands, Wallace had better, etc. I don't think clutch when I think of him, I actually think he will drop it or run backwards and be short of the chains. Historically we have been clutch finding receivers in the draft in later rounds so if we can get a decent haul for him I would move him in the offseason.

What also is amazing nobody ever asks the Coach about his tendency to do that. Where is the coaching either WR Coach, OC or Head Coach to get that habit out of him. I think I've seen him do it once where it actually helped.

The ball wasn't perfect. It was slightly behind.

Last time I checked, wide receivers get paid a lot of money to catch balls that still hit them in the stomach if they slow up a bit and rotate to catch it. All he had to do was secure it after he caught it while he was spinning around. He didn't have to dive or one-hand the ball. Maybe he was thinking about his celebration dance instead of covering up with two hands and squeezing to protect the ball. It was not that difficult of a catch. Any $19,000,000 per year WR should catch that ball, period.

It's not like the guy was draped all over him. Secure the catch and cover the ball. He could have even just caught it and gone to the ground and curled up so the defender couldn't swipe at it.

If it's a kid on your junior high football team, you're telling them they have to make that catch to help out your QB, but the 5-year NFL veteran receiver making $19 mil/ per can't get it done because of the horrible throw?

You don't bench him while you're trying to get into the playoffs, Pickens isn't going to carry the team as the only reliable WR.

But he did carry the team as the only reliable wr..... that was my point..... besides that, discipline must be carried out.. what DJ did is the type of thing that leads to locker room issues..... locker room issues will derail any playoff push... pretty sure that Minkah's issue with DJ stemmed from a similar lack of effort

If you want discipline then fine him, teams can double team Pickens and make him a nonfactor, Diontae addressed the team about his lack of effort.

Especially with Calvin Austin questionable to play this week. It would be tough to bench Johnson and go with Pickens, Allen Robinson and Miles Boykin as your 3 WR's.

Funny, on page 1 there is 3 threads on DJ. One where he is having a spat with Minkah, one where he is having a great career, and one where he has to be benched.:)

I hope he scores 2 TD's Sunday to keep them threads going;)

I think it was a little behind him on purpose. If he put it out front of Johnson, it would have led him right into the safety. If anything, he was a little late with the throw.

Some people think QB's have all the time in world, they are not going to make perfect passes
all the time, they are also trying to throw receivers open. But these QB coaches don't seem to follow this????
KFP needs to improve dramatically, is he ever going to be a Pat Mahomes no, could he be a Jarred Goff maybe?

He won't be benched...and I predict he has a big game and scores a TD today! That man will be hustling!

I’d bench him for this game just on principle and to stay consistent. “They need wins” isn’t a good enough excuse. Chuks got benched for something not as egregious.

Bellichick followed that rule of thumb for the SB and cost him the game.

    Belichick also has 6 SBs.

Yesterday’s game wasn’t the Super Bowl.

As it turns out compromising on principle was for not because DJ playing was a non factor.

So then your statement is false about staying consistent.

I seriously doubt if Pickett will ever be as good as Goff, unless he somehow learns how to read defenses

If I remember correctly Goff had some pretty tough season/s hence why
    LA gave up on him.
