I mean, Mitch and Mason would suffer as much as Kenny if they don't pick up the blitz.

My physical therapist for my shoulder was a real nice suburban Chicago native and football junkie that grew up a frustrated Bears fan. He felt Mitch wasn't even an adequate back-up. His take is that the more time he has to prepare, the worse he will play.

Mitch should be inactive and have Rudolph as KP's back-up. Kenny has stunk but he takes care of the ball. Mitch is the gift of possession for the opponent that keeps on giving.

He's in his late sixties, probably retired from football.

Mason was given a chance, and was so bad that they'd rather have a practice squad player starting ahead of him. Having said that, I'd rather have Mason as Kenny's back up over Mitch because he's even worse. Sadly, it's a case of who's the lesser of the two evils, but I guess they feel that Mitch is that guy

Mitch has mobility, a good arm, decent accuracy and absolutely no ability to read zone coverages.

Overall he's better than Pickett, but the one key difference is that when Pickett can't read the zone D, he checks down or throws back-shoulder passes to the sideline. Mitch throws into triple coverage and gets intercepted.

I'd rather see Rudolph in there than Trubisky. At least he tries to protect the ball.

Run w/ Pickett rest of the season, if he survives, find out if he’s it or not. Go into next draft with that information. As painful as it can be watching we simply must find out. If KP goes down I’d rather bring in Rudolph for Christmas. Mitch is the very definition of the perennial backup.

Find out what we have by years end. No pain no gain.

True, but they’re backups, we haven’t invested as much in them.

Mitch's intercepted pass intended for Allen Robinson vs. JAX seemed defended by 3 Jags, with #18 apparently separated, near the sideline.
Maybe Mitch had too much trust in his longtime Bear teammate...or too little practice time with his Steeler teammates.
For now, the Steelers have a better chance to win with Trubisky.

When was Mason given a chance to take the team and be the QB #1? He took over as Ben's backup the year Ben went down with injury early in the season!
Both Kenny and Mitch were given the reins of the team.

The last 4 1/2 years of training camp and practices and 10 starts

    He’s had enough chance

Just to put some simple stats out there:

    KP: Record 6-4, completion %: 60.5%, 6 TDs, 4 Ints, 2.1% TDs, 1.4% Ints, 5.9 yards/attempt, 79.2 QB rating

Mitch’s last year in Chicago, the year that the Bears decided not to bring him back: Record 6-3, completion %: 67%, 16 TDs, 8 Ints, 5.4% TDs, 2.7% Ints, 6.9 yards/attempt, 93.5 passer rating.

That was not Mitch’s best year. It was the year where the Bears said “we’ve seen enough. Time to move on.

Make of it what you will. It’s just stats.

Mitch on two different team since Chicago.
    Buffalo: 0tds, and 1int.
Pittsburgh Steelers: 5tds, and 7ints. It's just stats so make of them what You want....I just think we should see what He is now, and not what He was.

Yes, I'm all for Mitch replacing Kenny I'm excited to watch some offense oh but not by the Steelers but by the other teams after Mitch throws 2 3 4 picks a game a quarter maybe.:frustrated:
