Can't argue that he should not have gone to 14. Im baffled as to why he's forgotten about him since DJ got back. You have to wonder if there's lobbying for the ball behind the scenes.

I always find it interesting when people try to dismiss someone like this.

We are told that we can't trust the evaluation of a guy that played professional football, but we are supposed to trust a message board guy that never accomplished anything even close to that level of play breaking down film.

I watch film and know what I'm looking at. I played, but I never came close to playing professional football. The mental work that goes into a guy like O'Sullivan making it to that level is so far beyond what anyone here has ever done within the game of football, it's ridiculous. Trying to belittle someone that has accomplished far more than you ever have playing the hardest position to play in all of sports is just asinine.

I look at film and then make my own determinations. I then post links that show some of what I am seeing, because it is a more trusted source than an unknown message board contributor.

The sad part is while some people try to tell everyone else they are superior in understanding the game, they trash people that understand it on a level that they will never comprehend. It's pretty lame.

The thing someone doesn't want to admit is that we will never know everything about certain plays because every offense is different. We don't know all the parameters of every play, or who is supposed to do what, or what was the first read because every offensive system is different and every OC is different.

That's why nobody knows without a doubt. O'Sullivan breaking down the video is smart enough and knowledgeable enough to say that he doesn't know with certainty, because he has played in multiple offenses and understands the complexities and the subtle differences there are. Nobody knows all the answers except the people in the Steelers building. It doesn't make Sullivan stupid. It shows that he understands that he doesn't have all the information because it isn't available for public knowledge.

He also never says for sure what the OC is teaching the QB as to the when and where of throws. Again, he has played in offenses and ran many of these plays himself, but all coaches are different. He can see many of Canada's concepts are not very creative, they are behind the times, and there are differences in the way coaches coach the position. There is enough bad in Canada that is easy to see that it calls other things on the field into question. That's why he can doubt certain things about Canada's offense, yet still criticize Pickett for bad throws.

Probably similar to Bill Belichick, Joe Gibbs, Andy Reid, Mike Shanagan, …..

None of which played in the NFL let alone QB

On a positive note, Pickett wasn't a Top 5 kinda pick. I remember Mike Kruczek being picked 47th overall and supposedly the heir apparent to Bradshaw. Sometimes you just miss.

The biggest problem with drafting KP is that all the signs were there (IMO) that this guy was fool's gold. There was absolutely no reason to make that pick at that moment in the draft. That's even before I'm now realizing that this guy is not very cerebral. I don't mean that in a mean, demeaning type of way. I apologize if ultimately it's found out that the concussions are catching up to him, but I doubt that's what it is. He just processes what's in front of him way too slow. There has to be a better way to evaluate this when interviewing qbs or bringing them in for workouts. I think anyone who comes up with a VR device that can put these prospects through real situations is going to make a lot of money. KP is like a QB with zero vision. He's like the QB version of Trent Richardson. I think the coaching staff has to know this which is why we think he's being handcuffed so much.

That was Brutal to watch for Kenny's QB abilities.

How many times did he say this "...That is wide ass open in the NFL" ;)

For one thing, Johnson got open. Pickett just made a poor throw.

They already have VR headsets for practicing drills, whether they are using them or not is a different thing. I seen this somewhere , it is pretty awesome.

The op is only interested in the videos that feed his unstable disdain for Kenny, so you won’t see those. JT has praised Kenny as much as critiquing him.

Did you watch this particular video? There’s a lot of blame to go around, and JT calls those players (and Canada…. Especially Canada) out as he sees it. However there’s no denying when watching the film that Pickett is struggling to see and make the plays that are there in front of him.

I’ve seen other JT breakdowns of top tier quarterbacks that missed open receivers multiple times during a game that would make you scratch your head. Some have gone so overboard in these videos that now they think it’s only KP that misses reads. It’s gotten beyond toxic.

PS, those QBs missing reads didn’t even have a sh*t Oline. TIA

No doubt. I recently watched him break down Tua’s last game vs. the Raiders and Tua made a few very bad throws (including an ugly interception), but also made some great throws with anticipation. Yesterday I watched Sam Howell (who has fewer starts than Kenny) have a tough outing vs. the Cowboys where he was trying to throw under duress all game. Really, the pressure he faced was similar to what Cleveland put on Kenny. He made some mistakes, but he also routinely made plays down the field, even when he had to step away from pressure and throw on the move.

My biggest concern with KP is that he doesn’t take advantage of what’s easy and right in front of him. It’s like watching a basketball player running alone to the hoop on a fast break and stopping to set the offense instead of taking the easy layup. Hopefully flushing Canada out of the mix will help him reset. I think he needs to be given the opportunity to start the rest of the season w/o Canada to work through it. I’m hopeful, but not optimistic.

he very well might not be the guy. I’d love to see how he did with a good tight end and a Oline. I just think he’s in a total position of failure with a bad o line, no tight end and nothing over the middle. I also don’t think we have a real number 1 receiver. It’s a mess.

There are a whole lot of coaches in the NFL that didn't make it as star players. And there are star players that tried to coach and failed miserably... just sayin.

That's why I dismiss the Pickett and Zach Wilson comparisons, that's a complete bust by the Jets they picked him at #2, Pickett gets next year with a new OC if he's not cutting it then move on.
