Here's the Brooke Pryor article I read, with the quote from Tomlin:

I'm genuinely shocked they fired Canada. I jusy saw a meme about it about 20 seconds and thought it was fake news...but it actually happened. Who are they going to replace him with???

 

A problem way before KP, and that's what KP walked into.

We need to find the right guy, not some milque-toast hiring MT can control.

 

I'm more confused now than before.

 

When asked by a reporter this afternoon, Tomlin had a perfectly good reason for why Canada was fired.

It's usually the opposite.

 

All those players complaining about the offense recently probably had something to do with it.

 

He also said he did it was because they're not scoring enough points.

 

I have to believe quite a few of the players get a jump in their step this week. Optimism is powerful

 

Isn't this exactly what Saturday was saying?

Mid-season, it makes sense to hire an interim from within. You can't just change all of the language and scrap the entire system when there are only 7 games left.

That said, if this arrangement is retained into next season, then I'd be very disappointed. Sadly, I halfway expect that to be the case, however...sacking Canada was unprecedented in Steelers history, as it's been 80 years since we changed high ranking personnel mid-season, which makes me think it's also quite possible that the organization is willing to shake things up and hire someone big from the outside during the off-season.

Guess we'll just have to see!
