maybe cut back on the 3 yard out routes that take too long to develop and the pinched throws to the sidelines. Quick slant routes and use of the middle of the field would be nice.

 

Makes no sense sitting him now, we need to see if he's any better with a new OC

BUT - Kenny MISSED DJ in the flat, thru it 5 feet high!

 

It was after the 2003 season...LeBeau was our DC at the start of the 2004 season

I would highly expect Rooney called a 3 way meeting with Tomlin and Omar. And I’m guessing no one disagreed with him.

There is some speculation Canada was a Rooney hire so if true it wasn’t up to Tomlin to easily fire

Well he certainly wasn’t a very good DC

 

The people are still coaching that were here before. Only Canada is gone. That's why I made that statement. Maybe the interim OC is the answer. But we will probably not see any improvement for a couple of weeks if at all

 

They fired an offensive line coach at the end of the season two years ago. I know the the company line is he left to coach at Oregon, but according to the people that cover the team and access to the locker room he was fired

 

Is the OC from the Bills that was fired any good? Did he have any success at all?

 

Lucky that KP didn't complete one of those three straight passes to get in FG range and win the game. This firing never would have happened.

Rooney is the Problem!!!

He wouldn’t let Tomlin hire his own coaching staff. He forced him to keep LeBeau and his entire defensive staff. He “Retired” Arians who went on to become Coach of the Year. He Hired Canada so Tomlin couldn’t fire him. Rooney finally fired Canada……..

He should let his Football People do what they do.

That being said, Tomlin is Not without blame.

I'm torn on this one. While I'm not sure Leftwich is the best available OC out there, I'd rather it be him than an internal promotion.

 

I'm hoping the initial shock of this passes in the next few hours. I could never understand piling on to someone in this situation. He was bad at his job and now he doesn't have one anymore. Well documented how bad he was, it's over and done and now we will see how good a head coach Tomlin really is, there is much work to do, no time for victory laps.
