The thing that sticks out to me is how we have OR have not adjusted the offense to Kenny's limitations. What ever we are doing it is not working. Plenty of teams have bad Qb's yet they manage to get some production out of them by designing plays that are easy for them to read or make throws, etc. How is it that some teams with BAD Qb's still manage to produce points....obviously not at an elite level but still enough to be competitive. Our defense is giving the offense every opportunity to win games yet we can't. The only way it could be worse is if Kenny was turning the ball over.

It's also worth mentioning that we have had several QB's try to run this offense and have had zero success doing it. The lack of progress over multiple seasons should get anyone fired. Why Tomlin sticks to this is beyond me. He clearly does not have an answer him self otherwise a change would have been made. We should shake things up now. We have no chance in the playoffs with this offense and Kenny at Qb. The downside to a change is not great. What happens we miss the playoffs? Unless Tomlin is only thinking about his own $ he should be comfortable taking some risk here by changing things up. Are we playing to win playoff games or are we just playing to not have a losing season? The actions right now do not appear like we give a crap about the post season.

As far as the QB... I don't see any upside with our backups. Sure Kenny is horrible but his backups are worse. I would like to see what Mason can do now... yea he's failed before but he's had some time to mature. He deserves another shot imo .... of course I haven't seen him in practice but the only way he's worse is if he can't protect the ball. Our current offense can't get first downs. Punting every possession isn't much different than an occasional turnover. (depending on where it happens of course)

I just need to understand this middle of the field thing? Kenny is avoiding it as if he is being told to.

It has to be coming from the coaches. I don't even recall Kenny having issues throwing to the middles of the field. Mitch Trubisky is way more risky and erratic. Why are they doing this?

Then they make Kenny do those roll outs to the sidelines and they make him throw to double covered WR's?

Bottom line: Browns outcoached us yesterday. Their offense gave plan was leagues better overall and especially situationally.

He performed better than Kenny in his second game in the nfl. He is a project. The point being, we could have selected him in the fifth round and not be any worse off. Without the defense or specifically TJ Watt, we probably are winless. Stat...Steelers have not won a single game when TJ isn't playing. Tomlin rode Ben and now he is riding TJ to a 'Standard is the Standard' mediocrity.

Wonderlic probably does an adequate job of weeding out 'moronic' football players. There are exceptions, but exceptions do not make a rule. If it was worthless, it wouldn't be used. It's not an end all and be all, but its a tool.

I wonder if there's ever been Pro-Bowl or Super Bowl winning QB with a 17 Wonderlic score before? What was Kordell Stewart's score? I think Ben's was 25

Here is a link with some wonderlic scores. The lowest I saw of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks was Flacco at 27. Peyton, Foles, and couple others were at 28.
    https://wonderlictestpractice.com/nfl-wonderlic-scores/

    /edit roethlisberger was a 27 and mahomes 24.

another edit Bradshaw was either 16 or 15. He’s listed twice with two different t scores

So you knew to select that guy at the 5th this year and that all the other 10+ in the last 2 years were not going to be good? And who would have started last year?

In fact the only good one in these 2 years is Stroud. The rest are Kenney and then majority on the bench.

Kenny Pickett is horrible here is the proof.

315 QBs have 500 pass attempts since the merger Only one has thrown a touchdown on fewer than 2% of his attempts Kenny Pickett (1.9%)

And this is the reality of drafting the QB position. There are a lot of duds that don't make it drafted high in the draft.

So am I irate they spent a #1 I n Pickett? No I am not. In the end, you have to assess and do the best you can with your situation. I wouldn't have a problem with them drafting another QB next year.

The position is that important and you may just strike out on some of them according to history

1st. Nobody tells KFP where to throw.
2nd...didn't You watch the game....He audible a fee times...I don't know the exact number because I couldn't stomach watching it again this soon....hell one of His audibles caused a delay of game.

I agree He will be better in a different offense....the problem is.....if He Himself doesn't get better a basic Qb play ....it will not be much better. You are looking at the same situation as the Giants had with their Qb....yes bringing in Daboll helped, but not nearly enough....because basically the Qb is not good enough.

That's possible but, I recall people writing off Trevor Lawrence too. He's turned it around. It'd be a shame to throw Kenny away after only seeing him with one bad coordinator. Maybe he turns it around, maybe not....

So ....I agree Dobbs is better now...7 years into his career. So the Steelers should have stuck with Him for 7 year to find out. I bet You money right now . If KFP is still in the NFL in 7 years He will be better than He is now.....so should we stick with him that long??? Hell no....nobody can wait 7 years on a player to see if they will finally get better.

Has Trevor really turned it around?? I recall He scored no tds, and had 2 ints just last week against the 49ers. Hell He only had one td against us . He's not exactly lighting it up, and He was a all around thought to be a top Qb. Yes He's better than KFP....make no mistake, and yes He just beat the Titans....who we also beat. I'm just saying....We know Canada is not great, but KFP is leaving lots, and lots of plays left on the field. Lots of them. Hell You can see our Wrs talking to the Dbs , and laughing when He throws the ball way over their head.

Don’t agree, he’s told where to look for his primary target. And he more than likely doesn’t have time to look anywhere else.

You sure about the audibles? Thought he was not allowed to do that. I haven’t noticed any in the previous game. (Browns game was not shown on the west coast)

Not to sound mean, but don't You watch the games??? If not....go to our delay of game penalty when we are on offense, and watch...you will see Him making audibles , and run out of time. Yes You have(simplifying it) 1st target, 2 target, and so on, but that can change by what the Defense shows pre snap, and nobody....nobody is saying....hey....only throw here, and not to the open guy.

compared to his first season? I'd say yes. Kenny misses a lot of throws, agreed but, he's not given a lot of time.

Bills are 2nd in total yards in offense and 4th in points and they fire their OC. . .

Tomlin is also 25-24-1 in his last 50 games. . .

He given about the average time...sometimes less, and sometimes more, but all together average as most Qbs are getting. Most of the time the Qbs We play against are given less time. Did You see what Browns were doing because He didn't have much time??? Qbs make the OL , and target either look better , or worse the biggest part of the time. It's like that huge sack KFP took.....DJ(think it was him) is running free....right in front of KFP, but He doesn't throw it....He holds it , and then panics, drops His eyes trys to run one way, and then the other....sack. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree My Friend.

of course I watch the games, but I can’t watch every one like you who is privileged to live in the area.

You don’t know what Canada is telling him - no one outside the organization does. You, (we) have to watch the replays and see if KP is even looking for the open guy or in his direction. If he isn’t, isn’t that an indication that he’s being told to only look in certain areas?

    Well He is making audibles.
Well put it this way....He would be the 1st coach I've ever heard say....only throw here, and don't ever look anywhere else. LoL. You can look at the other Qbs from college to the NFL that played under him not do that. I'm not saying He's a good OC....I never wanted Him hired , but thats not what's happening. I watched Him in LSU, and while He sucked as a coach.... Its why I didn't want him in the 1st place....His Qbs weren't doing that then.

Nope. They should have signed Dobbs last year instead of drafting Pickett.
