I believe Tomlin tells Canada which 8 plays he can call but does not call the plays . They probably have a 4 minute meeting to prepare and then buddy it up with the team for the week heading into the game .

It is hard to know whether or not Canada is the worst in the league though, right? He has been made the scapegoat over the past season and a half because we all thought Kenny was a dude and the offense had potential. The "4th Quarter Kenny" fluke also had us buy into the fact that Canada was holding Kenny back. However, it is becoming more and more evident that Pickett's play might be holding the entirety of the offense back. We were at least a league average offense when we had league average QB play in Ben's final year. It was a super young unit with a terrible OL. This year's unit as a whole is far better all around the QB. Its just... a way worse offense because

Do I love Canada's schemes? No. He doesn't seem to be doing anything cutting edge, and he has some college-y feeling plays in his playbook. If we had quality QB play, would our offense move it better and score more? Yeah. I still think we could lose both Canada and Pickett and be better for it.

Yet no thread was made. Not by anyone. There was a room of weeks that went by, and no peep of a thread made.

Ben was so much better before Canada. Ben even admitted to Canada was very easy to read. As well even knew Ben was calling the shots.

So you want to try that again? Or do I need to link his pod cast of not holding back on Matt Canada?

The Patriots won Superbowls running the ball and playing defense. The most yards that Brady had in a season where he won a ring was 4600 and that was with TB. The other years were right around 4k or less.

Yes, Captain Obvious, Ben was better before Canada. Before he was 39 years old, before elbow surgery at age 36 etc...

Yes, Canada was easy to read. Take a look at that OL that year. We couldn't run, and we couldn't let our 39 year old QB take more than a 3 step drop for fear of his life. So yeah, there were circumstances that made us pretty easy to read.

Try what again? I'm not defending Canada, but I'm not backing down on my stance because everything I said was factually true. The Steelers offense fared just as good with Mitch at QB as it has with Pickett. Fact. It fared considerably better with 39 year old Ben. Fact..... These are facts. Not points of contention. And who cares if Ben liked Canada or not? He liked Randy Fichtner, and that dude sucked too.

Both need to be replaced big time next season and both should never have been hired or drafted(in the first round) in the first place

You are right. Thanks for the correction. Coach O did say......"It's tough when you make a mistake, but it's even tougher not to admit you made a mistake and it's just not a good fit. I had to do the best what I thought for the LSU program, and that's why I did it."

62, but there was also a significant detail you’re leaving out. They had to overcome a 25 point deficit. The game also went into overtime

I don't know why they couldn't even get off a pass that would go farther than 15 yards?

Just attempt it once or twice in the game?

You think that Canada is not one of the biggest problem for the steelers?!

Not even close. Don’t get me wrong he’s not without his issues, but Pickett is the biggest obstacle this team has to overcome. At this point his only redeeming quality is not turning the ball over. However, when you refuse to throw over the middle and every completed pass is a check down it’s hard to throw interceptions.

Outside of Pickett, who is for you a bigger problem for this offense that Canada?

Because last year, when Trubisky was starting at the start of the year, this offense was garbage too...He was not that bad in Chicago(he make the playoffs twice in 4 years in Chicago)...In 2021,the offense were scoring points only when Ben had more power in the playcalling in the fourth quarter(they had 49% of their points in the fourth quarter in 2021,NFL record).I 100% agree that Pickett is not an NFL caliber QB, but that is also the case for Canada...This is vanilla like crazy no matter who is the QB

up until a few weeks ago probably the oline was second in our issues. They finally settled in a bit against the rams. However, when opposing defenses can sell out to stop the run and have no fear of being beaten by the pass then everyone’s job is more difficult. You want to stack the box and stop the run then picket has to step up and he hasn’t. The vast majority of his passes are check downs. Opposing defenses have absolutely no fear of Kenny beating them. Occasionally he will complete a pass downfield and people get all excited. After 22 games we still haven’t seen Kenny play a complete game. Not one. We have dumbed down the offense to no avail. Tomlin is stubborn and has probably stuck with kenny longer than most coaches. My guess is the only thing that’s kept trubisky on the bench is his propensity to force the ball into coverage and subsequently throwing interceptions.
