Ok - that's fine for the first drive or two, but by the 4th quarter, you're still surprised?

I was frustrated at how many times I saw him back pedal only to throw the ball at someone's feet to avoid the sack. Smart play to avoid the sack, but he wasn't even looking for another option to throw the ball.

Look, if they don't change coaches ever because it's disruptive to the team, then how could we possibly expect them to change plays during the game?

Wow…Matt Canada (and Mike Tomlin) were surprised by the Browns’ defensive gameplan. What a surprise!

The real problem is that Browns defense was not surprised by the Steelers offense. But then again, no one is.

I would blitz KP on almost every play and jam the outside receivers at the LOS because we never use the middle of the field, rarely if ever run a quick slant (even though several times we did it was successful, like running warren, it works, next series we bring in Najee) and our O line except for Jones is so bad we have to keep the TE in for blocking.

I don’t think the word options is in KP vocabulary.

Wasn't that kind of the point of his comment? They didn't adjust well enough. The game plan was built around attacking a man-to-man defense. Maybe Canada needed to do a better job planning for zone coverage.

Tomlin actually said he didn't regret not having Warren run the ball more. He also said it wasn't a matter of the passing game not getting going the last few weeks as much as running it so well. Is he ****ing kidding?

Hasn't it been the same game plan the last couple seasons?

    - stack the box
    - take away anything outside the numbers
    - pressure the QB
    - only thing open is check downs/short yardage

KP has proven that he has trouble deciphering zone defenses, and Tomlin & Co. didn’t anticipate that they may see a heavy dose of zone? Our coaches really are playing checkers vs. chess.

I guess the Google search during half time for how to defend against zone coverage came up empty

Warren touched the ball once on the Steelers' final two possessions, and that was a third-down dump-off that had no chance. Given the way he was running today, that was inexcusable.

Most teams don't do that much at halftime. Maybe they shift to another part of the playbook. They seemed to make some adjustments in what running plays they used, but the passing game seemed to stay the same and that was a huge mistake.

Pickett plays too scared. He immediately dumps the ball off to his first read on essentially every drop back or when the slightest bit of pressure comes at him and you just can’t be successful doing that consistently. I agree for Warren not to touch the ball at all those last two series especially after the Pickens catch to put them at the Browns 40 with about 5 minutes left was flat out inexcusable. For Tomlin to put it all on the Browns defense being “that good” as to why Pickett struggled is a load of crap as well. At some point Pickett has to put his big boy pants on and go beat a good defense and win a game. That’s what franchise QB’s do. I didn’t like Tomlin’s post game comments at all it tells me that nothing will change. There are problems with this offense and this just didn’t start today. Tomlin refuses to acknowledge it and when you have a stubborn head coach who doesn’t refuses to admit it nothing will change and that’s why this tram continues to stay right at mediocre each and every year.
