He will be forced to get a new OC next year but we will still have KP. My prediction is we will see much if the same next year from KP and we are going to have players like TJ Watt, Minkah and Pickens wanting out as a result. This issue is strictly a Tomlin issue.

The OC is bad but calls a conservative game plan because they don’t trust KP. If you don’t trust KP why are you starting him?

Roethlisberger in his prime covered a lot of warts for Tomlin. I hate how Pickett doesn’t even look for a second or third option. On those RB passes in the flat you can see the guy is covered. As the WB why throw it over and over and over again.

Dionte Johnson is the most mediocre overhyped Reciever. He just isn’t clutch. Why do you throw it to him three times in a row?

The yellow line on tv is the limit for the distance that Kenny passes....

I feel sorry for Warren. He is giving his heart and soul out there. Was again the best player on offense.

Nah the yellow one is wayyy to far downfield to be that line.... The black line is closer.

We can only hope as long as its not Sandwich. They will stick with Pickett giving him a chance to rebound with a new OC. But with a short leash.

The two we have behind him need to go.

Hey we had two passes over the middle of the field today. That is cause for celebration.

I agree 100%. DJ gets passed to a lot, though, because he's usually good at running his route fast enough to get open. Kenny doesn't really look for other options though. I think DJ is his safety blanket...but he's not really a good one to have, given how prone he is to drops.

Ben absolutely covered for Tomlin in a major, major way. Once Ben began to decline in his final years, we finally got to see the emperor's new clothes. I never thought he was a very good coach and from day one, thought he was two or three steps back from Cowher in terms of quality and game intellect.

The one consistency in Tomlin's career is wasting the careers of one HoF caliber player after another. Outside of his one SB win (with Cowher's players and most of his staff) and a meaningless ".500 or better season" streak, his tenure as head coach can only be described as an a huge failure.

I cannot wait for that day when Tomlin is finally shown the door and we get a true reset. From coaches to players, we're going to need a huge reshuffle if the Steelers are ever going to be legitimately competitive again.

Sad thing is I did get excited. I thought we might even see a ball thrown further then I can hit a 60 degree wedge but I can still hit a golf ball further then a Kenny P. pass and I'm a lot older;)

I think its a wasted year if we do that. We've seen what Kenny can do (or rather, cant)... there's no need to throw him out there again with a new OC and hope he magically becomes an NFL QB. He will still have happy feet, he will still bail on cleanish pockets, he will still miss open guys, and will still continue to be terrified to throw the ball to anyone that is more than 5 yards downfield unless they are "college" open. The play-calling isn't going to change that fact.

There is 0 reason to think we will be anything other than a bottom 3 offense with Kenny at QB regardless of who is calling the plays. We need to cut the cord and find someone else. IDC if its in the draft, or if we think we can get good enough play from a Cousins, Mayfield, or Minshew to help this team out. We CANNOT waste any more time on Kenny. Its over.

Is promoting Sullivan to OC really counts as getting a new OC?

Tomlin is a defensive minded head coach. He is obviously the one coaching or at least scheming the defense. The defense is ok but honestly they give up a lot of yardage and chunk plays. I feel like they lack complete creativity in putting any pressure in the QB. Teams are out scheming us and taking Watt out of the game and honestly I feel like Highsmith should be producing slot more as a result. We don’t scheme to free those guys up at all.

I get it we have a lot of injuries on defense. But the bigger issue is Tomlin is a defensive minded coach and all our money is tied up in the defense. The problem is this is an offensive minded league with everything catering to the offense now. Reduculous roughing the passer penalities, PI calls, etc. it really limits a teams ability to play effective defense.

So with all that being said why not put the focus on getting the best OC the best Oline coach and put actual money into the offense? It’s the only way to win now in the NFL. The problem is Tomlins ego will not allow him to get a good OC … Tomlin wants all the control.

the only way they can truly change this is to get an actual OC and go get a legit QB and keep Tomlin far away from both of them.

Art II will not do this. He was a 1st round pick. It will be Pickett's 3rd year in 2024. He will get a chance to rebound under a new coordinator but they need better players in the QB room as both Trubisky and Deer are not it.

If Art had any balls, he'd kick Tomlin upstairs to the executive suite. If you don't want a fire him, then get him out of the way.

This coaching staff needs new blood, new ideas, etc.

was opposed to DJ's contract 2 off-seasons ago. he is NO solution moving forward. We need MAJOR help at WR. It's a shame, he is an amazing route runner. Dumb as a brick it seems, hands the same. ruins a lot of games for us.

    Worst Tomlin interview ever:

    no change needed
KP: credit Cleveland D, not KP issue
Passing game hasn’t been bad, it’s our running game has been good
Happy with Warren’s 9 carries as they don’t live in our fears

Those expecting change will be disappointed

Route running doesn't mean anything when you can't be relied on to make routine catches. DJ's best separation is between his hands and the ball.

If they go that route (and they need to), then finding a guy in the 7 to 10 million range, who can actually start for you if things go south is not an easy task. If a guy slips in the draft you may get lucky, but truly how many of those guys are there? At this point even Neil O'Donnel would at least give you a chance in these close games, in a league with around 95 QB's on rosters, ours collectively mat rank in the bottom half.

Trubisky is signed through 2025. His dead cap would be 4 mill if they release him next season. They have to do it he is useless.
