Who are we rooting for tonight Bengals vs Ravens?

You must have never seen me post if you remotely believe I think the Steelers are a juggernaut

All joking aside I didn’t think the Steelers would win another division game this year but with Watson out and if Burrow is out long term they could go 3-0 or 2-1 in those games now.

 

Here we go again. My shot in the dark injury guess.

Watching Burrow fall backwards with his hand behind him hitting the ground to break his fall to me screams broken bones in the wrist. I did this myself in high school; Colles fracture.

Not sure how this play into all the pregame pictures of him wearing a brace, even before the game started, so he may have just reinjured something else.

To me the injury occurs on the play right before the play where he is shown grabbing his wrist after the pass.

 

Don't think so. Wasn't in a brace after the game and for sure he had x-rays. I'm wondering if it's actually his elbow, or maybe a TFCC tear in the wrist. I had a TFCC injury and it took months to heal with pain and weakness.

 

Burrow is out for next week for sure or he would have played today if it was not serious. The bengals are toast for playoffs. Division record sucks and so does confeeence record. Now take burrow out and season is over. Ravens losing andrews will hit too

 

Right here is where he is falling to the ground and breaks his fall with his wrist.

 

Zac Taylor said it is a sprained wrist, but Burrow will have more tests today.

 

Bad luck for us that Burrow got hurt last night, but the Ravens might have won anyway. No doubt the Ravens are the best team in our division, and arguably the best team in the AFC. They could easily be 11-0 if not for those 3 blown 4th quarter leads. We're lucky to be 6-3, could easily be 3-6 or even 2-7. We'll see if the "smoke and mirrors" holds up, the Browns will be a big test for us, even without Watson

 

Burrow is another overpaid China Doll. 275 million dollars and is often injured. Just like Deshaun Watson. I’ll take a 14 million dollar Kenny Pickett over those two every time.

 

Andrew’s out for the season will really hurt Lamar that is his security blanket. AFC North is getting really interesting because of these injuries. Of course we have our problems too at MLB and Safety.

 

And just think they are paying their QB 275 million.

 

I don't know about fines, but their jobs should be in danger for poor performance.

At the end of the day, this is an NFL problem. They need to find a better solution. If that means full-time officials or some other solution, it's on them. They have unlimited resources to address the issues, so there are no excuses.

 

Every AFC north seems to be depleted right now...

 

I think the Bengals should have won that SB when they had the chance. I was so sure they were going to own the AFCN for many years.

The offsides call against the Steelers on the FG attempt earlier this season should have resulted in immediate termination! That call was pathetic.

 

Those blown fourth-quarter leads count. Like the Steelers, the Ravens have three losses. They caught the Bengals with Burrow unable to move and still nearly lost to them Week 2, then had him leave the game with an injury last night. Hell, they only beat the Cardinals by one score. Yes, they have looked great at times. They obliterated the Lions. They also blew out the Browns earlier in the season, but it certainly helped to be facing a rookie quarterback in his first NFL start with very little preparation. They also got lucky to catch the Texans before they got rolling.

Most importantly, the Ravens suffered a brutal loss last night. Mark Andrews is out for the season, which is a huge blow to that offense.

 

Its close to sticking a fork into the bungles. I feel bad

At this point I can't see the purple crows not winning the division although they have some heavy hitters to play, 49ers, Dolphins and the Jaguars.

Losing Andrews in the 1st quarter is big but they did put up 34 without him.

Also the clowns are bringing in Joe Flacco

The game against the clowns might have to be a coming out for Pickett and the pass game. I'm sure they will be selling out to stop our ground game.

 

Tomlin and Canada might not let that happen. I imagine they will stick with the conservative game plan with the Browns relying on a rookie quarterback who was horrible in his one previous start.

 

Lamar Jackson will get hurt eventually he had a scare last night himself.

Kenny Pickett might not be the best QB in this division, but he might just be the last healthy guy standing.

 

Games like this, and threads like this are exactly why I don't understand why people make such prophetic statements so early in the season. Before the season started, people had the Chiefs, Bills and Ravens on such a pedestal that there was no way we could make it past any of them in the playoffs.
Each one of them teams may be better than the Steelers but none of them are world beaters and as the season goes on and injuries continue to pile up, anything can happen in the playoffs. They just need to get there. For all we know, that pressure might be what Pickett needs to turn that switch on. Personally I hope he doesn't wait that long but stranger things have happened.

Now - can Lamar get the monkey off his back in the playoffs? If he stays healthy, we will see!

 

well, in today's NFL, there are no 'world beaters'. I had Cincy as my #1 team heading into the season. If Burrow is out for a few weeks, their season might be dashed. But - IF he gets healthy in DEC, he can rip thru any team and any seed, in my opinion.

you are correct that 'stranger things have happened', but we all live and bet by odds. the odds are we are one and one, if we get there. Pickett is foundering - for whatever reason. but of course, miracle do happen.

There's always "woulda, coulda, shoulda". Each team is where they are because they deserve to be there based on their performance. The Ravens are a good team. We have a golden opportunity to cement ourselves in the playoff picture the next two weeks against back up QB's. We HAVE to take advantage.

 

Couldn't disagree more. Watson is DEFINITELY not worth his money, but Joe Burrow is. He's struggled a bit through injury this year, but Ben had seasons like this as well where he wasn't as good and hurt/injured for chunks of the year. Kenny Pickett could play for free and I'd still want Burrow at 275 million instead.

Pickett is one of the worst starting QB's in the league and likely wouldn't garner any interest in the offseason as a starting QB if he were to hit the FA market this offseason. 14 million dollars a year would be a sizeable overpayment for him. A good comparable would actually be Trubisky coming off his time starting in Chicago and wasn't viewed as a starter around the league (he was much more successful as a starting QB than Pickett has been). If we see no more improvement from Pickett, he's probably a 7ish million a year QB that may or may not get a shot to compete for a starting job.
