If the Bengals lose they would be in some real trouble in winning the division, they already have 2 losses in the division, and they have 4 losses in the conference. Also a loss by the Bengals would mean they got swept by the Ravens. The Ravens also have 2 losses in the division, and 3 losses in the division, the loser tonight would have 3 losses in the division. Guess who doesn't have any losses in the division yet, your Pittsburgh Steelers.

    :herewego!:

I don't want anything to do with Bengals, therefore I will take Ravens.

I’ll root for the Ravens to heap more losses onto the Bengals. Keep them down and buried with no hope.

I can’t think of any circumstances where I would root for the ravens. Plus, I am a Burrow fan.

I don't know. Part of me wants the Ravens since We already have a tiebreaker on them AND the Bengals are closer to playoff elimination with a loss and a tough schedule ahead. But if the Bengals win the Steelers can take first in the North..... I want whichever helps us make the playoffs at the end of the season. Week 10 first place doesn't matter as much. I'll probably go with the rats and not the pussycats.

Give Me the Bengals. If the records , and implications were switched....I'd take the other team. It's really simple. If the Ravens lose....We are in 1st place. If they win .....We aren't. So I want the Bengals to win.
Why anyone would want the team(whomever it was) to win that would keep them ahead of us, and actually move them even farther ahead of us....is totally beyond Me.

I think the Bengals are a tougher out if we and Bengals make playoffs.
I want no parts of them other than what is on our schedule.

I agree though part of me would like to see the Bengals tumble further out of the playoffs picture but having a chance at first place trumps that.

Bengals have the tougher schedule left, have way more division games left, and are behind us. The Ravens only have one more division game left, have an easier schedule, and are already ahead of us. If the Ravens win tonight....they only have us to play to beat them in the division. We need the Ravens to lose another division game. The Bengals are 1-4 in the AFC.....they own almost no tie breakers.

A tie with lots of injuries.

A Bungle loss may help yo keep them from the playoffs.

A Ravens loss may help with Steelers winning the division.

Either way, Steelers must take care of their own business.

See .....I hate them all equally. So I will only pick what helps us the most. Bengals are 1-4 in the AFC, and own almost no tie breakers. The Ravens on the other hand only have this game , and one game vs us to lose in the north. Bengals way is harder ahead than the Ravens.

This makes sense if you think that the division is realistically in play. It may be. The flip side is to chisel away at a Bengals team’s chances to make the wild card. I think it’s very possible that they beat us head to head in both matchups, and we need a better record to get a wild card ahead of them. I guess I’m more focused on getting a Wild card, which I think is becoming a really good probability, and less on the division (especially given the Ravens easier schedule). I’m rooting for the Ravens - but I get your point.

I guess you could make the argument that the Ravens winning gives us less of a chance to win the division but more of a chance of making the playoffs because of the wildcard berths. Personally, I will always root against Baltimore.

We have the tiebreaker against the Ravens, and recently we have fared much better against the Ravens (and Lamar) than we have against Joey Burrow's Bengals. I feel like we have a better shot at surpassing the Ravens and beating them to end the season than I do splitting with the Bengals this season. Therefore, I want the Ravens to win. It only matters if we are first in the division after Week 17... not after week 10. It would be nice of course, but a consolation prize imo.

against Baltimore down the road than Cincy.

Bury the Bengals? It feels like they are still more dangerous than the Ratbirds.

I try not to get too involved in rooting for one team or another in a situation like this. The best way to approach it is to let the game play out, and then root for your team to try to take care of business and optimize whatever chances they have no matter the outcome of the game between division rivals.

Take care of your own business and good things will happen.
