We want Watson on the field. Watson and dobbs are the only two quarterbacks in the league with a worse off target percentage than big ken

He may care somewhat, but I have my doubts. That money is guaranteed, what has been paid and what is owed, pride may make his think he wants to perform well, but it did not keep him from getting jollies in different ways.

"If you called for a shoulder massage, then why are your pants off?" lmao

I actually preferred that Watson was on the field.... we own Watson...... Meanwhile, we have a disturbing tendency of making 2nd and 3rd string qb's look like Joe Montana

I hope this helps teams (and players) come to their senses on these fully (or mostly) guaranteed contracts. Quite simply, they are bad business decisions for the teams. DeSean Watson, Daniel Jones, Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson, Kirk Cousins, Joe Burrow. Are any of those quarterbacks really providing the return that their guaranteed contracts demand? I'm okay with some guarantees that would allow a player to take care of his family and live comfortably should a catastrophic injury occur, it is a dangerous game after all, but these fully guaranteed, quarter of a billion dollar contracts are ludicrous!

The next headline I'd like to read is "Myles Garrett (aka the lying, race baiting, attempted murderer) out for the season"!

And let me add...MYLES GARRETT CAN'T CARRY TJ WATT'S JOCK STRAP!!!

Watson was 0-2 against the Steelers thus far as a Brown

Guess we will have to wait till next year now to see what he does.

So now we know that someone gave him a prostate massage so hard that they broke a bone in his shoulder.
Only the Browns could Brown things up so badly. It is the most Brownian moment ever. They have a huge chunk of their payroll invested in someone who can’t play, not to mention a treasure trove of draft picks. Sacrė Bleu, Ay Caramba, Mama Mia, Uff Da, and Oy vey!

Overheard outside the Browns massage room: “Mr. Watson! That is NOT your shoulder!”

I think most of the owners realized Watson's contract was a terrible deal for the Browns. Supposedly, many of them were pissed at the Browns for doing it because they didn't want other quarterbacks using that contract as a precedent.

Watson is still better than their other options. The Browns are starting rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson, an athletic quarterback with a big arm and a habit of turning the ball over. The Steelers need to take advantage of that.

I don't cheer injuries by players, even hated rivals, but I have no sympathy for Watson. That unrepentant sexual predator deserves any horrible luck that comes his way.

I second the motion in the last paragraph. I think that so far the Watson signing has been one of the biggest disasters the NFL has seen. He is on a fully guaranteed contract that is un-cuttable until after the 2026 season and untradeable. He has only managed 12 total games in his first two seasons in Cleveland and has a YPG that mirrors Kenny Pickett. Its BAD bad. Very bad.

As for Sunday's game... we HAVE to stop the run and force DTR to beat us with his arm. Its a very winnable game if we can find a way to show up even a little bit on offense and get a turnover or two defensively.

I prefer the backup actually. Originally had a bad feeling for this game. Browns went through a knockdown, drag out fight with the Ratbirds and now they lose their QB. They won, but maybe they are a bit worn down after a game like that and getting a win makes them less hungry.

The outcome of games in the NFL is unknowable, but I really hope we take advantage of these Chubbless, Watsonless Browns.

There is an article on ESPN Insider now about it (yes I am a subscriber)
Here is a quote from it that sums it all up:

"It means that unless Watson leads them to a Super Bowl title in one of the final three years of the deal, this has a good chance to go down as the worst trade and/or the worst signing in NFL history."

Another lousy signing in our division was back when Flacco got a Super Bowl, so the Ratbirds paid him big time. I think he may have been highest paid QB at the time of that contract if memory serves. That was a pretty bad deal for the Ratbirds.

I’m very happy to see the Watson deal turning into an absolute disaster for Cleveland. That was a shameful deal.
