Sometimes the draft gurus mess up and allow someone like Warren to slip through the cracks. He has been a big part of the team's success this year.

Great job by Warren today. He’s a really solid overall RB. The two-headed RB approach is really starting to heat up. There were a lot of nice blocks by the line too. Even Cole had a really nice downfield block on one of the big runs.

Just wrapped up seeing the game!

Have to say... having Mason Cole become mobile as opposed to static really helps him out. Him being stationary is where he gets into trouble but when he moves, he is better. Still not a good year for him but today was one of his best games of the season.

Very deserving. He’s averaged 7YPC the last couple of games. He can be a feature back, no doubt in my mind. He needs to be the RB that gets the next contract and not Najee.

I agree. I don't see why we would want to pick up Najee's 5th year option next season. I think they complement each other well, but I think Najee is going to want 10+ million a year and I see him more in the Montgomery/Sanders range of 6. I still would rather see that money go to Warren and just pick a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round to replace him. No reason to not have a tandem and surely wouldn't want 2 RBs on a second contract.

They complement each other very well. There doesn’t need to be one or the other.

I guess it is good having both but I really wish Warren got the ball more.

Warren has been my favorite offensive player and I was hoping he would get a more significant role. Undrafted. What a find!

    Very deserving!

Agreed! The whole line seemed to just be road grading. Jones is a beast! Its pass protection they had major struggles with.

For the time being, you are correct. But at some point, the Steelers will have to decide who to give the next contract to. Right now, that's Warren and not Harris.

But things can and do change. We'll see how it plays out.

Warren isn't built to be a 20-25 carry a game RB, he is excelling at getting the ball 12-15 carries a game as the change of pace back. If down the road the Steelers depart with Harris then they need to get another quality back that can split time with Warren.

How do you know that? Just because he hasn't been doesn't mean he's not capable of carrying more of the load. He seems to be a bit of a physical freak.

But I don't disagree that a two back system works well and keeps those toting the pigskin fresh. I like that approach.

Sounds like the Dallas cowboy fans....that had no doubt that T. Pollard was the best back on the team, and should be getting all the carries over Zek....even when Zeke was at His best....because He had a few break out games, and had way more yards per carry.....so they got their wish, and is T. Pollard worst year in everything, but about a million of Dallas fans just knew for sure, and He has went from a 5.5 yard per carry average to a 3.9 average....just by being the actual guy. One two punch is working well for us....as it was with Dallas, but the fans just knew better. LoL

    .

Geez, guys. Fans have OPINIONS. I don’t think any fan on this board is under the delusion that we’re going to get paid to make decisions for the team. It’s ridiculous to throw out “I’m glad fans aren’t getting paid to make decisions for the team…” blah, blah, blah. This is a message board where fans come together to share opinions and debate viewpoints. My opinion is that Jaylen Warren has and continues to outperform Najee Harris and if he continues on this trajectory the Steelers will offer the big payday to him and not Harris. They won’t break the bank, but Warren gives them something to think about when considering Najee’s fifth year option.

    You are 100% correct:thumbs_up:.....so...
Ok....My opinion....I I think it's crazy that the one two punch is working very well, and some of these runs that Warren has had has come from misdirection to Najee, plus people always complain about running someone's wheels off....Yet....You, and some others....want them to change it....that's what gets me. I could see Your point if it wasn't working, but it just seems like some of You... just want it different....because You want it different. :hmm:

I don’t mind the 1-2 punch I just think Warren should be the 1 and Najee the 2. And 20-22 carries a game is not running someone’s wheels off. Franco used to have 28-32 a game and even Leveon Bell had 25-28. Give Najee plenty of touches, but let’s roll with Warren as the feature back.
