As above Kenny got away with at least two critical errors, this was a very lucky win

Saw this on Twitter, just look at the middle of the field.

sam howell. i know elvis and i both thought howell was the guy. at least we liked him as the pick. i even mentioned purdy at one time. i like kenny but didn't think he would be there for us but man he's not evolving whatsoever. i hope the search continues.

Blame who you want, and yeah yeah, we won, but that pass chart is truly pitiful.

4/7 attempts further than 5 yards down field. And 11 balls thrown at or behind the LOS.

One pass of 20 yards. The obligatory jump ball to GP.

Wow. It would be different if this was an anomaly and not the norm

The bottom line is he still keeps stacking wins and has the longest active streak for QB's without throwing a pick and 5 games in a row without a turnover.

I think a lot on here are to young to have watched the 70's team demise. Take a look at how many QB's we went through before Ben R. We had a lot of decent seasons with different QB's and made it to 1 SB. Every time we got a new one I thought this is Bradshaw's replacement. None were. IMO Pickett will not match what Neil Odonnell or Stewart did for our team. Just an opinion and want to be proved so wrong but Pickett is not a decent starting QB. Better coaching might help but I just don't see where he has the instincts to be a great NFL QB.

Can't argue with that. A lot of my non Steeler friends are giving Mike Tomlin a ton of credit for what our team has done with what they call, "a sucky QB".

Oh, the "Tim Tebow" argument: HIs stats don't matter, because he's a winner. But eventually they do matter.

IF….. you’re looking at just these stats then of course QB2 is the choice.

BUT……. Stats don’t tell the Story, Stats point to a storyline…

Storyline- QB Pickett underperforms, slow in development!!

What’s missing to help fill in the Story in Order to properly gauge, analyze and develop a different Story.

1- Better coaching, it’s a given he doesn’t have the best or even Good QB Coach/OC team guiding him.
2- Better Receivers- DJ still drops too many passes and Pickens is a poor Rte runner. No dependable 3rd wr and no TE capable of garnering even ONE probowl vote.
3- Better run game- This would help tremendously and would require better OL play and better playcalling.( note- it’s starting to trend upwards slightly)
4-Better OL play overall. Jones is helping. We need a better OC now.
5- Better Playcalling- Argue this point if you will , but it’ll be pointless to do so.

Conclusion- We don’t know if the problem is Pickett or Canada but we know there is a problem!!!! Pickett doesn’t go thru his reads quickly or completely as often as he should so WHY??? Canada doesn’t expand his offense and call unpredictable games so Why???

You literally blamed everyone but Pickett lol. Pickett is historically bad in a lot of stats. Defense hangs around long enough and makes plays at critical times to save baby hands. Only worse QB play I’ve seen has been Tune and Devito. Canada isn’t making Kenny not read defenses, have a noodle arm, baby hands, missing wide open WRs, low IQ etc

Kenny Pickett is the perfect QB for Tomlin's system. His #1 priority is don't turn the ball over and don't do anything risky. Tomlin would despise having a young gunslinging QB like Sam Howell or Will Levis that have big time arms and throw the ball all over the place. Tomlin is much more comfortable winning games 13-10 instead of 38-35.

I think it’s definitely the game plan to play it ultra safe but I expect that’s because they don’t trust Pickett more than anything else

When Ben, AB and Lev Bell were in their prime they were as aggressive as any team in the league on offence and Tomlin was fine with it

They don’t trust Kenny not to make the killer mistakes that young QB’s make if they open up the passing game. It’s hard to argue with the results to date but it’s hard to watch at the same time

    My opinion
Pickett is making some mistakes and it’s concerning, but what’s worse is this offense scheme that we’re running.
Kenny may not be a Superstar, but with good coaching and team around him we can win a championship.
This crap offense wouldn’t be advantageous for anyone.

People are praising guys like love and Levis, but damn, I could throw to wide-open receivers.
Think about it, how often are our receivers open compared to other teams?
Either our receivers suck, which I don’t think is the case or it’s the whole offensive scheme which seems pretty obvious to me.

As long as We win ...I don't care, and using the outcome of the season as a playoffs is not the way to do it. Otherwise I can do it with a bunch of teams , and Qbs others say are awesome.

Yes , he’s made a few high passes to DJ and I even said he seems to not getting thru his reads. I reckon your Love for Canada and hatred for Pickett is distorting your reading comprehension.

The Problem is bigger than JUST Pickett AND if several of the listed issues are corrected then even you may become an owner of a Pickett Jersey.

Lot of guys had great stats but didn't win what the fans really want. Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, Drew Brees, etc. All had great stats but only 1 SB.

In the end it is all about winning the game. Although I do agree that no way Kenny keeps winning with the stats he is putting up. Unless we bring back the rules and our defense from the 70's;)

I still say Tim Tebow's name should be banned on all Steeler boards:rolleyes:

I like Howell, but he has the exact amount of time to throw as Pickett, but Howell has been blitzed 119 times compared to Pickett getting blitzed 51 times. That means that Howell actually has better protection and that Pickett is getting more pressure when being rushed by just 4 rushers so he has to throw into more coverage.

Howell also has taken 47 sacks this season. Kenny has taken just 19. That is also playing in Bienemy's offense, not Canada's.

Hell, maybe we could have developed Josh Dobbs, and not have given up on him.

Howell has a losing record, and takes a lot of sacks, I will take wins over stats.

I said nothing. I asked a question to spark a conversation.

But hey.. at least no turnovets against the browns. . Right?

That is the new bar? Just don't turn it over.

I did not want Pickett .. but I also said he was proving me wrong last year

But this is who I thought he was. Can he still prove me wrong? If course and i hope he does. But I have seen nothing this season to make me think he will.

In 10 games Stroud has 17td and 5int...KP has 6 and 4... and 17 and 17 for his entire career....I do not need KP to be elite. But I do need him to be competent

I don't need him to be Ben, but i do need him to be in the Kordell ball park and right now he is not close

Hope is not a gamelan or winning formula
