Steelers. Not as bad as you think.

The Steelers have the best running tandem in the AFC north. The o-line is opening up holes. We are tied for first for takeaways in the league. Today Lamar Jackson 2 ints. Joe burrow 2 ints. Deshaun Watson 1 int. Kenny Pickett 0 ints. We have the 2 best outside linebackers in the League.the AFC north is still wide open.

 

hard to throw interceptions when you don't throw downfield. we have some good things going for us but there is one common denominator. bad qb play.

I would rather have Pickett throw for 300 to 400 yards with 2 to 4 passing touchdowns with 1 interception then for 178 yards no passing TD's and 0 interceptions. You won't be able to run against AFC North teams like we did against the Packers. For one they know our tendency and will put more men in the box because they know we won't open it up and throw deep and into the middle, and we almost always run on 1st down.

 

Kenny's doing exactly what the staff wants him to do. The staff sucks, but it is what it is. 6-3.

 

Oh yes, it's not all on Kenny, it's also design and scheme and play calling. But hey 6-3, we can't complain, but let's see the next couple of games against better teams.

 

Some of the Steeler fans are disappointed by the lack of fantasy football stats put up by Kenny Pickett. They grumble that sure we won but he only had 120 yards passing. Then go root for the Chargers, they have a great QB with a great arm that puts up great stats every week. Oh yeah also they have a losing record and their All-Pro QB has only 2 come from behind wins in 4 years and is 0-4 in games decided by 3 points this year but wow he can sure win your fantasy league for you.

 

I don't care about fantasy football since I don't play in that but I know that you can't go far with a offense like the steelers have in the last few years...Problem of the chargers is their awful defense...Their offense score a TD in the last 5 drives of the games vs Lions and they still not win this game....Brandon Staley deserve to be fired

 

You are correct about Staley. He should have been fired a long time ago.

 

Just good enough to beat bad teams

 

The good thing is that there are a lot of bad teams in the league and we still have a few more on the schedule.

 

We have the strongest "strength of victory" of all the 6-3 teams. Of the three teams we lost to, two are leading their division and the other would have a playoff spot if the season ended today.


An example of strength of win: the teams Pittsburgh has defeated are a combined 27-29. The teams Miami has defeated are a combined 14-42. Miami is currently the #3 seed and has not beaten a team with a winning record.

 

Unfortunately if you make the playoffs that is no longer the case and the pop gun offense obviously won’t cut it. It’s not all KPs fault but it’s looking more and more to be a-lot of his fault.

 

To piggy back off of what @mac daddyo stated, at some point, Kenny will have to make plays for four quarters to win the team a game. He has yet to do so.... sans him in the 4th Quarter; though even this can be disputed this season. With any luck, Kenny can take off as the season winds down.



Given how he has yet to show it after 21 starts though.... it becomes harder and harder to defend him.

 

Defense is beat down from the Offense failing so badly this season.

They’re missing guys and need some rest.

 

2 of those team that Miami lost were against 2 of the best teams in the league (eagles on the road and the chiefs in Germany)... When the dolphins win, it's by blowout for most of the time, so their ceiling is much higher than the very low ceiling of the steelers

 

6-3. I don’t care how they win, just win.

 

Before the Packers game the defence had played 70+ more snaps than the offence. That’s an extra game and a half. It’s no wonder they are getting wiped out by injuries.

 

The good news for the steelers,2 of those team won a playoffs game that year....

Yesterday he was lucky but for the most part Kenny did a good job protecting the ball in the 4 games before and last season in the second half of the season but the major problem, the production for our passing game is one of the worst in the league and it's brutal!

 

When I know his only throws that he’s allowed to throw are sideline throws gee I’m sure the defense knows and can react. Not to mention how far the ball has to travel. You have made it clear you have given up on him. Not me. Not at all.
