Who said those things about Ben? I was sure halfway through his rookie season that we had a good one. I don’t remember plans getting down on Ben in his first 2 seasons at all.

This team is most definitely wounded.
Kwon was playing pretty well in my opinion.
Washington is a big guy but you're spot on, no threat whatsoever.

In my opinion, TE is a very critical position, especially for young QB's. Freiermuth is clutch and will bail the QB out of tough spots.

friermuth hurts the blocking in the run game though. yes the better receiver but.... our run game is too crucial to team success to give it a hit. as far as washington, you have to let him get into the pattern instead of just looking at him 4 steps off the line and never looking at him again. kenny does this constantly. where kenny looks is so much of the problem.

Hard to argue. If people are going to blame Tomlin for losing games we should win, then he needs credit for winning with this team that is somehow 6-3 with a whole host of issues on both sides of the ball.

I am just sick of our pathetic offense in the last few years and they keep the same problem like Canada despite this and they are likely to keep Pickett for way too long....We can maybe make the playoffs or avoid a losing record with a offense like that but we can't go far with this....What is the goal of the steelers?

    Josh Dobbs
    63% Cmp
    14 TDs
    5 INTs
    218 Y/G (total)
    53 QBR
    6.3 SK%

    Kenny Pickett
    61% Cmp
    7 TDs
    4 INTs
    189 PY/G (also total)
    37 QBR
    6.9 SK%

I don't know if Dobbs is better that Kenny but I am sure that Dobbs would not have the numbers he has right now in our offense because he would be only a pockett passer with us with all our lack of creativity by Canada

Why isn't he being coached differently? You would think as poor as our passing game has played this half season
they would be trying other routes, anything to get off the scheid. Nope same old same old.

I don’t disagree with wondering what the longer range plan is, and the foolishness of keeping Canada this year. However, once the season starts you do everything you can to win every game. That’s happening right now, and it’s actually kind of mystifying to watch the games and see us flounder so much on both sides of the ball and still prevail on the scoreboard. Tomlin’s weekly plans to keep things close and strike late are clearly working vs. most teams that’s close to us in talent (plus the bonus of using that formula to beat a Ravens team that’s more talented at about 60-70% of the 22 starting positions).

Next 2 week will be a huge test.If they create many turnovers on defense, they will have a chance, but if this is not the case,it could be ugly very fast

Mason definitely has a stronger arm than KP.

I believe he's talking about Ben's last few years in the league, not his first few.

A couple of concussions will do that. But I believe it goes deeper then that.

Its hard for a struggling QB to throw with any consistency when its hammered in your head by Tomlin just don't make the big mistake. I feel he is looking at his part as very small and its wearing on him mentally. He is lifeless out there.

How about some play action? Working the middle of the field? A quick strike? The running attack is working so lets try to keep the opposing defense honest. Not saying Pickett throw it all over the yard but if this team gets down a couple of scores its going to get ugly. You need to let the kid take some chances.

Creativity and Canada are like oil and water. My fear is that they will go 9-8/10-7 maybe squeak into the playoffs and Tomlin with Art II's blessing will resign Canada. This would be a colossal mistake but I can see it happening.

Steelers winning is disguising a very obvious problem, that Pickett isn't a starting QB and probably is the worst on the roster. Some Steeler fans are illogically vested in him because he went to Pitt. There is absolutely nothing about him that stands out. He's not accurate, doesn't read defense well, has a below average nfl arm, doesn't have great pocket presence. We are 6-3 despite him and is testament to good defense and some fortune. We haven't blown a single team and its quite possible we could lose all our remaining game because this team doesnt put anyone away. I wanted him to succeed badly but it has become apparent that this guy isn't a good qb.

Drake Maye definitely isn't falling to the Steelers, but honestly, I'm not sold on him. He has great physical talent, but can be a little inconsistent. I'm guessing Caleb Williams, Bo Nix, and Maye will all be long gone when the Steelers' turn comes around. I just can't see them trading up for a quarterback rather than giving Pickett one more shot.

Agreed. Roethlisberger showed that he could be very good very quickly. It took a while before he showed he had Hall of Fame ability, but I think it was clear he was a franchise quarterback during his rookie season. That doesn't mean Pickett can't be the Steelers' guy, but he certainly isn't showing it yet.

I couldn't care less that Pickett went to Pitt, but even I can see that he is a better option than Trubisky or Rudolph. That doesn't mean he is a franchise quarterback, but he is their best option right now. What stands out is his ability to play his best with the game on the line. He has done it often enough that you can't just write it off as a fluke. The issue is consistency.

The passing game sucked again and the defense suffered another brutal loss with Alexander's injury, so that isn't entirely inappropriate.

Mason Cole sucks. He took a big holding penalty because he was beaten. His weakness makes it difficult for Pickett to step up in the pocket. He snaps the ball low far too often.

One player you left out is Boswell. It is easy to forget, but he has to at least be in the discussion for the league's best kicker this season. He has one miss, and that was from 60-plus after he was robbed of a 56-yarder in the rain by that ridiculous offsides call against the Jaguars.
