FIrst 20 starts who you take?

This draft class is looking really good. Benton looks legit and I think the first 2 picks are already proving they can start right now. But KP is pretty much a code red for me at this point I’m just not seeing anything showing me he is the answer.

It is apparent that Kenny is the same guy he was last year. Not any jump or progression in play. He' will have started 28 games by year's end... That is more than enough time to show something. At this point in time he'd be a great back up, but a poor starting QB.

They will likely give him next year with a new OC. Then there's no excuses. Either put up or shut up.

Well, after a cool down period(after a win no less) and a nice post game nap, I'm not sure I'm in a different place regarding Kenny than I was right after the game.
I've tried to be as level headed as possible regarding his improvement and something just went off in my brain watching him today. Just watching how he moved through his progressions , or lack there of, brought on a weird feeling of despair that he doesn't seem to be getting even remotely better in these areas. Not even from week to week.
I'm not like most Doom and Glooms on here, I have no need to call him trash after every single play. I still honestly want him to do well but now I truly think that he won't ever get to the level the Steelers need him to and quite frankly, that's a depressing thought.
Some of you guys wear your "Pickett sucks" opinion like a f**king badge but you have absolutely no idea how far it sets this organization back if he was a swing and a miss.

Especially for the older fans like my old man. Watching the game with him today it’s like we want to be excited but are both starting to accept he isn’t going to be the guy. It can take a few years but at this point we should be seeing some signs and there really is nothing. He did take a little time to come on at Pitt but that’s ACC no D football vs the NFL.

 

I'm always up for being proven wrong. He has a lot of detractors and that should light a fire in his belly. Problem is, that doesn't always translate to improvement on the field.

 

I got to see the 22. I got to see on some of those 4 second clean pockets that nobody was open. He had plenty of time many of those drop backs. I got to see it before I get too judgemental.

 

He has happy feet and panics into a check down on nearly 50% of his drop backs. He is not progressing at all. Canada didn’t help him and neither did the OL play at different times but it’s starting to become a Kenny problem. The line played decently today we ran the ball well the Packers Secondary is hurt and not good to begin with and he still did nothing.

 

What he didn't do was turn the ball over for the 5th straight game and that's what the team wants him to do. Play it safe, don't take any risks, if it's 3rd and 15 just dump it off for 7 yards and punt. Just don't make a killer mistake wait for the other team to self destruct just like Levis did last week and Love did twice today. It isn't exciting football but it has won 13 out of the last 18 games.

 

He’s not. Just shows that Pickett should be a back up as well.

 

But it won’t win a playoff game when you gotta square up with the Dolphins.

 

Maybe not but it gives you a chance to get to that playoff game. If the Steelers throw caution to the wind and go 5 wide and throw the ball 50 times we would be 0-9 or 1-8. This extremely cautious approach has the team 6-3 so far this season.

 

I don't see us going past another year....unless He shows significant improvement. Next year will Be his make , or break year. They won't spend big money uselessly.

That will definitely give any fan some perspective. I have seen nothing from Kenny that elevates the players around him.

 

He actually threw two interceptions but on one the guy couldn't get his feet inbounds and on the other, it was a backwards pass. It was poorly thrown and should and been a game changing play for Green Bay. He was very lucky not to have 2 giveaways.
