I don't know if it is the DB coaching or our DBs suck or both. I've never seen a QB complete so many 3rd and long completions in a game before.
And what happened to our pass rush, absolutely no rush most of the game.
Draft DBs in 1st and 2nd rounds. CB and Safety.

Despite the 6-3 record our offense is just awful but our defense is also bad....The only reason they have this record right now is the +10 in turnovers and they are 6-0 in one score game...They are -26 in points differenciel now and the extra point who was blocked in the second quarter was big at the end

Who cares about how they win. They win. A lot of teams would love to have an offense and defense as bad as the Steelers and be 6-3 right now.

For those of you with very long memories-

This Steelers team reminds me somewhat of the 1970s Vikings, who used a dink and dunk offense and a lot of blocked kicks and turnovers to beat better NFC teams and make the playoffs every year.

So 2 of the most important stats in football, TO margin and one-score game record, do not count as a positive because it is the Steelers? How exactly is the defense creating TO’s but by playing good defense and creating TO’s?

They are also the first team in NFL history to be outgained in the first 9 games and still have a winning record

Maybe that means that yardage is a less important stat than TO’s and record in one-score games as a method of predicting success. The Big Ben teams regularly lost games when they out gained teams.

Ben won like 65% of the time in his career in around 250 games so outgained the opposing team is important.....34 teams in NFL history have been outgained every game in the first 8 games and 33 of those team did not have a winning record after those 8 games....Not because the steelers have a winning record despite to be outgained every game mean that this stats is not important....But yes the winning% in one score game is important but you also need to win some game by 2 score or more since it can't work in the long run

They showed a stat during game that MT has won 95 games by a td or less
Since 2007. No wonder I have no finger nails.

We've given up a lot of yards for a couple reasons.... Too many big plays, being below average in 3rd down conversion (19th in NFL), and being on the field for 35 minutes a game (offense is 30th in TOP)

The defense has done a good job in a couple categories... We lead the league in total turnovers (18) and turnover differential (+10), we are also 8th in total red zone percentage (45%) and 9th in sacks (27).

So essentially we are winning games based on the offense not turning it over (2nd fewest giveaways in NFL) and the defense generating turnovers (1st in NFL). We generate a lot of pressure on the QB and that usually leads to INTs and strip sacks. Pair that with a defense that does a good job in the red zone and we will win a lot of close games in the high teens and low twenties. Keep in mind that the defense allows 17.7ppg in the games outside of SF and Houston (we average 20.5 in those same games offensively). We are 6-1 in those games, all decided essentially by an average of 2.8 points per game.

SCHEME + LACK of TALENT (of course, when your ALL PRO Pro Bowler S is out, all looks BAD!)

but our Free Agency Defense Crop is not that great!

Every pass defense sucks in the history of the NFL if the pass rush doesn't apply pressure.

The Steelers have how much money tied up into the pass rush vs the DB's?

The Steelers highest paid and DB didn't play the last two games.

Fans and their lack of understanding of the game. The Steelers are 6-3.

No it means they are doing just enough to beat other crappy teams and are getting lucky. You can’t honestly watch KP and this passing offense and think we can win multiple playoff games vs good teams do you??

We are playing How Belichick played in Bradys 1st, and 2nd season. Don't lose the games ourselves, and let the other teams lose for You.

We shall see. I see Lamar Jackson win MVPs, and that skinny white boy from the Chargers throw all over the field, but I don't trust either of them to win multiple playoff games. I promise I wouldn't put money on either of them to win multiple playoff games. So...

So, you don't think all that pressure up front is causing these Ints?

This is why I was completely ok with both Watt and Highsmith getting extended. Fitzmajic to pick off the mistakes.

    disrupt the plan.

Watt, Highsmith, Heyward, and Fitz are key players in which the team could build around. Teams can't always account for injuries.

The Steelers are 6-3 with a tough game against the Browns next week.

That's because you only look at him as a QB. But if you think of him more as a playmaker, then he's pretty damn good. He's not great if he just stands in the pocket and throws all game, but he's a very dangerous weapon and when his throws are accurate, he's almost impossible to stop. Would I take him over Burrow or Mahomes? Absolutely not, but he'll help win an awful lot of games until father time catches up to him

Hey man this is my team I'm proud of them despite dealing with the adversity. Cam is clearly not 100% but I hope they continue to take it easy on him because they need him playing his best late on the season if they do make the playoffs
