I bet Khan is at the drawing table but the options are limited. They like ILBs that have range and Roberts doesn't have that. This will most certainly be exploited if nothing is done about it.

I'm looking for some type of unexciting recruitment, at least on paper.

Tomlin might want to experiment with the SS/ILB hybrid idea he's had in the past.

Either way it does suck pretty bad lol

I think Neal is your best answer at a cover ILB.

If Myle Jack is out, Where is Marcus Allen?

You think Buddy would work? He's another thumper. I thought he's be a great developmental guy when they grabbed him.

I think he was talking about that's something he feels he's ready for earlier in the week.

Herbig has not played inside at all, so expecting him to suddenly move there and be productive makes no sense. They need to be creative and get their best players on the field together. They did it with Dupree, Watt, and Highsmith when Highsmith was a rookie. Now they need to do it with Watt, Highsmith, and either Golden or Herbig.

And Spillane may have just won the game for the Raiders.

Gotta be better than what they have now. Plus he's somewhat familiar with the Steelers. At this point, you just roll the dice and see what you can come up with.

he was never the most talented, but i loved his tenacity.. reminded me of some of the hard nosed old school Steelers linebackers of the past. good for him and congrats on the baby announcement.

Hey, I am watching Ben's pod cast right now, and he just said Devin Bush got cut from Seattle.

    Any truth to this?

Not right now. Currently he's listed on their active roster and no transaction indicating he was cut.

A couple guys on Dallas practice squad. Perhaps Jon Ross from the Ravens practice squad. Maybe Brandon Smith from Philly (out of Penn St)

ILB went from a great upgraded position to being in a bad spot in a matter of two weeks

Going to be very hard going forward.

I don't think Golden has ever played inside. I don't know if Herbig ever played there in college. I know they talked about moving him inside in training camp, but I don't remember seeing him play inside in the preseason games. This is why I brought up the possibility of occasionally playing Watt or Highsmith inside. It's not as if they haven't done it before. They have.

I think they are going to have to get creative. Better to get three outside linebackers on the field together some of the time rather than play a practice squad guy inside. They lose a lot of defensive versatility with Roberts and Robinson as the starters inside.

None of those guys are going to play many snaps inside, so it's a moot point.

Neal isn't good in coverage, although he has experience at playing ILB.

That's why I feel they will do it. Instead of finding the best available inside backer and coaching the guys up, they will roll the clock back and return to a failed experiment.

That guy from the Falcons who they recently signed is most likely the next man up, I think he had 100 tackles last season with Atlanta.
