OOOOOPS. My bad. Somehow I was looking at team offense and not defense on those last two points. Scratch that.

Steelers defense as of week 16.. (YPG)
#1 in total defense ..272.9...#1 passing yrds. 185.4....#2 in rushing 87.5
.......and you want to toss Lebeau really? Besides Dick will decide his departure each yr. everyone wonders. he hadn't made an annoucement as far as i know whether he's coaching next yr. At 75 he has a sound mind not to mention in physical shape this man can turn out some pushups during practice. As papy used to say.."why fix it if its not broke" People say the league is immune to his plays/schemes..i say the record speaks for itself. Agree we had some unorthodox looks and plays this yr. but you will have this when filling cavities.

Lebaeu has nothing left to prove He's a superbowl champion, a hall of famer, one of the greastet DB's ever and in my opinion the greatest defensive coordinator ever. That said I will support his decision to retire or not to an return. I just hope the DC in waiting doesn't leave for a different team if Lebeau stays.

Injuries were the problem on defense this year and we still have the best defense in the league. That in it's self is amazing.

Timmons played good this year I think. Worilds looked good when he got out there. Woodley was Woodley and by that I mean injured. This thread is about Casey Hampton saying Lebeau will be back but how many people think Casey will be back? As for me I want MORE MCLENDON!

Great D's get off the field. THIS years D had serious trouble doing that a lot of the time. We let the Chargers keep the ball almost the whole 3rd quarter. That is NOT indicative of a DL coached D. Truth be told our D lost us just as many games this year as our offense did. Remember early in the season? It was almost unbearable to watch. Also the way they come about those rankings are just totally lame. Sure we didn't give up a lot of yards but those stats don't tell you about how crappy our special teams are and how they kept giving the other team good field position and so our D was playing on a short field most of the time. Remember that we were the most penalized team in the league on ST? I think THAT made it look like our D wasn't giving up many yards when really a lot of time it's just that teams ran out of yards because the field ended. I never felt like this was the dominant D that we were used to. Keisel looked old and slow and him and Foote both seemed to constantly take bad angles. Ryan Clark had to drift over and save Ike's butt a lot. Harrison never materialized. We didn't send a single defensive player to the pro bowl. Actually I would like for someone to figure out when was the last time THAT happened. I mean ZERO players!

timmons did play well. he takes so long and underprepares young backups from being ready. he rarely plays young guys. it took timmons years to get on the field. farrior and foote have been used to long. carter, worilds, sylvester have never really played that well or been ready to play.

somethings wrong here. harrison was also sitting there under his nose without playing him. he was a coach with tomlin at memphis and was a ST's coach there as well. why not here? i'm not sold on keith taking over the reigns, i could be wrong but somethings wrong with his player evaluation or the coaching up of guys to me.

I want them both gone all Hampton does is take up space when McClendon gets in the game he makes plays in the backfield he needs to start in 2013. Lebeau schemes are predictable the Raiders came out and said it after they beat the Steelers. I'm not impressed by having #1 ranked defense I would rather have a defense that can sack the qb on a regular basis and cause turnovers. LeBeau doesn't use rookies much in his defense it's too complex to learn. I want to see what Keith Butler can do with this defense time for some new ideas.

Timmons played better then well, he played great and should be going to the pro bowl. Worilds is getting better and better now that he is finally healthy, when Woodley can stay healthy he's shown he can be a difference maker, I think Butler does fine with the LB's. As far as players taking too long to get on the field, its the Steeler way, was like that under Cowher too. If anything, they get on the field quicker now then during Cowhers tenure.

well the steelers way has to change because of free agency. we don't have ten years to have backups around to bring along this slowly.

timmons started out slow this year don't forget. woodley has only been really good when harrison has been healthy.

harrison was also sitting under butlers nose when cowher was here and even when harrison got the starting gig by default, butler wasen't sold on him. he ended up DPOY. how do you miss that?

worilds is playing a little better, i wouldn't say better and better. he's been here for 3 years. so has sly.

since our starters have declined so has our play at LB'er and the pressure and run game defense, yet nobody thats healthy is ready to step in. even the vet backup we aquired.

you and i see things way different in this area.

A lot of people missed on JH, how many times was he cut? I'm glad that the Ravens also missed his talent. Worilds hasn't played a whole lot in those 3 years but now that he is getting playing time, I think he is going to be the player he was projected to be. Sly, I didn't realize was here for 3 years already, I don't hold any hope for him developing into anything.

The Steelers have lost their two divisional home games even though the opposing offense DID NOT SCORE A TOUCHDOWN. That‘s hard to do.!!!!!!!!

That my friends is NOT on DL!!!!!!!!!!!
