A Steeler Record

According to ESPN stats our boys are the 34th team in history to be outgained by opponent in each of its first 8 games but we are the very first to have a winning record.

So we got that going for us.

 

No style points in football.

They find any reason to trash our team and sadly, many of our fans are worse. We are 11-4 in our last 15 regular season games. Winning isn’t even enough. We are 2-0 in the division this year but ESPN says we are the worst team in that division? OK, but actually does playing a game matter any more? Is everything based on media pencil dicks? They dream of running the NFL like the current college system so they can push the popular choices to the playoffs and not worry about an actual game.

 

I mean this is not a good 5-3 team....They are in the bottom 3 in yards on offense and defense....They just always win the close game....They won their last 8 games decided by one score....They were behind after 3 quarter in 7 of their first 8 games this year...They are mediocre despite their record

 

It does not matter!!! Find a way to win!!! Would you take a close Super Bowl? Should we not be impressed with the win in 2008? Is the league about wins or fantasy points for mom’s basement idiots that think they could actually run a team cause they play a stupid fantasy league? They are not a championship team, but it takes time. You can’t switch players weekly like the fantasy loser leagues.

 

Which is nice

 

You would have a point if the Steelers would be able to play a close game against a Super Bowl caliber team....But that was not the case for the most part in the last 3 years, outside of 2 week 1 game in 2021 and 2022 where many upsets happen each year in that week in the NFL and this year against Baltimore when the Ravens receivers were so bad

Apart from that, when the Steelers play against a great team, it's a blowout and that's why we got frustrated

 

Have you seen our offense? Media lumping us in the bottom 5

 

Noone is upset about winning, the case is the way we are winning and it wont last with the lack of production on offense. These numbers are going to catch up to us, i. e. the Texan game. If the defense doesnt play close to perfect we are getting blown off the field, similar to the Jets last night.

 

Yet 3 teams in the top 10 on offense all have more losses than We do. So that IMO opinion shows there is more than one way to win.

Remember the season we started 11-0? There were people saying we could be the worse 11-0 team ever. I didn't understand that when I heard it but got the message the way we finished.

I'm still convinced this team is going to jell into a better team. Just worried about the entire AFCN jelling.

The 11-0 start in 2020 is an example that how you play is also crucial, especially when looking at the big picture.It's nice to have a good record and it helps to make the playoffs, but in the playoffs and against elite teams, the problems you have, it's going to hurt big time....Maybe you'll be lucky in one game like the steelers were against the ravens this year but in the long run, no way you can go far playing like that

Last year's vikings were the same thing...They had an 8-1 start and 13-4 overall but their defense was so bad that they made Daniel Jones a QB with around 100 million guaranteed and they lost in the playoffs in the wild card round against the giants

 

So let Me get this correct from everything stated here. The Ravens season, and Lamar Jackson MVP that year was the worst MVP season ever....because they got spanked in the 1st playoff game they played that year...., or does that only work for the Steelers???
So every team that has a great record in the regular season that gets beat in the playoffs is the worst 11-0....12-0....12-4, and so on teams???
Funny how people only make the playoffs a important part of the equation when it suits those people, but if I bring up something, and say they suck in the playoffs....I gotta hear about some MVP season. LoL ...You can't have it both ways.

 

This is no comparaison between the 2019 ravens and the 2020 steelers....I mean,the ravens were so dominant in the last 10 games or so in 2019 and they had the best points differencial in 2019...Their loss in 2019 was such a huge upset.....For the 2020 steelers,they had lost 4 of their last 5 games, including a game against the awful Bengals team on primetime and their win, they were down by 17 points against the Colts and when they were 11-0, some of their wins were not impressive like the two against the ravens, titans and against the cowboys with their 3rd QB...I was not surprised by their loss against the browns in the playoffs since the steelers were awful in the last month

 

Yet like the Steelers... in the playoffs... they the Ravens got spanked the very 1st game, and that how people decided that the Steelers weren't good, but somehow doesn't count with the Ravens. LoL. That's very hypocritical.

 

read my post again...You ignore that the steelers had been awful in december..They were not close to beat a awful bengals team with their backup QB....This is how bad they were in december

 

KC Chiefs in 1995 give the 2020 Steelers a run for their money. Chiefs had the #1 seed that year at 13-3 and lost their home playoff game to the Colts.... 7-10.

 

Ok. It had nothing to do with injuries, and them moving our schedule around back, and forth during Corona stuff...making us play so other team could play.
Final result. The Ravens got spanked in the 1st playoff games....just like the Steelers did .
