Maybe just maybe He wasn't ready yet. Also maybe He plays better at RT than Moore does. Moore only had one bad play last night. So If You put Moore at RT , and He's not as good at it as Jones is....then You're not fixing anything. You still will suck at RT. This way they are good at both.

 

The NFL Network highlighted Jones's good game last night. Especially the second level blocks, they were really impressed by how quick he was for such a big man.

 

For now we roll with what is working for sure.

 

According to Tomlin, team needed a spark. Guess there is far more to than what Chuks did against Jacksonville to warrant such a demotion. Regardless, the end goal was the same; inserting Broderick Jones Jr into the lineup.


For me personally, I was really under the impression that Dan Moore would actually be the first to fall between him and Chuks. Never did I think it would be Chuks. Guess that is how the cookie crumbles..


As others have said, roll with the best five you have along the Offensive Line. I am not a fan of Moore protecting Picketts blindside but if he, Seumalo, Cole (oh boy), Daniels and Jones are the best you have.... go for it. Win or lose, go down swinging..

Why did you think it would be Moore and not Okorafor? Was it just a LT or RT thing? Okorafor has been the weakest link on that line for a while. He is not a good run blocker. There was no doubt that Moore and Jones was the best run-blocking alignment. I just wasn't sure if they would be better in pass protection, too, but so far it looks that way.

Tomlin's talk with Okorafor -- his longtime starting right tackle -- involved telling him he would not be in the starting lineup for Thursday night's game against the Tennessee Titans because of disciplinary reasons.

Jones was told he was switching sides and wouldn't be repping as a left tackle during the abbreviated week.

"He told me to be prepared to play on the right side, and I said, 'OK,'" Jones said. "And that was the end of that."

According to Okorafor, when he talked to the press after the game, he was healthy but got benched for some things he said during last week’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Okorafor didn’t expand on the context of his comments but said “The way the game was going last week, I kind of said stuff that I shouldn’t say. I just, being in Year 6, I can’t like act out the way I was acting out.”

There were many pre-draft scouting sites that suggested Jones would play RT in the NFL. I don't think there was ever an official statement from the Steelers about drafting Jones exclusively to be the future at LT either. So many on here seem to think they know more than the guys running the team. Stop spamming the panic button, it only makes loud noises, nothing else.

Now, Jones has moved b/c Chuks sucks. the entire line is a mess. Yes, C is awful. We don't have enough picks and $$ nor adequate coaching to fix it in 2024, I am sad to say

I'm excited to see how well the rookies have been doing. Excellent draft. I wonder how Herbig is at MLB I know his strength is the edge rush.

As Tomlin said, I think he showed he deserved a start. We'll see where the pieces fall but imo it's a mistake to not start Jones at RT at this point.
