Seems the Steelers tend to attract a few of those types.

I have found in life players/people like Pickens/AB are a cancer to society.

he's not paid to baby sit your kids. he's here to win football games. i watched devonte adams presser about his coach and his lack of use. again not using your best talent is inexcusable. throw him the ball. he was good enough when DJ was out. he has shown to be capable in double coverage. now you rarely throw to him. BS. feed the beast. who cares if he celebrates DJ's TD? the kid is out there blocking and doing what he was supposed to be doing up until that time. then he is rarely used for the last two games.

One game does not make a season, no one is questioning his talent just his behavior and I am not into drama associated with this type of player.
That is all I am saying on this topic forever.

You clearly don’t get it. You don’t t get rewarded for holding the team hostage in a team game. He should have picked golf or Tennis since it’s all about him. He’s here to win games you say? When did football turn into a game where on player can make demands and hold the team hostage? I’m sure they talked to him last night.. it went something like this: “we are moving you in the offseason unless you become a distraction, little girl”.

No I haven't forgotten Abt AB and Bell.. . But I'm willing to bet there is plenty of childish behavior coming from other players in the lockeroom also.. that's never made public...I'm not gonna upset over some kid that made a mistake out of frustration or anger.. we all have said something or did something in the past we shouldn't have.... In the end it doesn't affect me . I'm not worried Abt it.. in the end if he is a problem. The team will move on...

i want passion in my players. could it come across differently? sure but he's still a kid. this team is doing him no favors in his usage. by the way he saw very little usage in the game before as well. when they did finally throw him the ball he was being double covered, made the catch and left both guys flopping on the ground while he ran into the end zone. that's what he can do and that's what we expected him to do and that's what he should be doing. throw him the ball. the kid doesn't lack effort. DJ does at times. which is worse? harris took it on himself to go to the offensive line and try to fix problems. team wide the staff is hurting some really good talent. of course there is frustration. one bit of frustration and now he's AB.

...especially when your QB only completes 60% of his passes.

Pickens really hasn't performed so well since DJ has come back.

Pickett has let him down a few times with some really poor throws.

But, its on him not getting his feet in bounds for a sure fire TD.

Needs to man up... he has no leverage in any situation. Got another half the season to go, he's sitting at 527 yards at mid-point with a couple games (last 2) which were bad.

But, he's in the 2nd year of a rookie deal, go ball out. He's got zero leverage in any situation what so ever.

Steelers control him for next 2 years after this one, and you can't even get traded till the off season.

But this was the fear with George, you knew you might be getting a guy that can be immature at times.

if he could toe tap, he would have had a TD

there is a reason he went so late in the draft, I'll let that sit for a while (his head is broken)

MT and Colbert / Khan must have missed the LEAGUE WIDE memo......

Can't say I am surprised. There was plenty of foreshadowing.

I get being frustrated, but doing this after missing a lay-up TD because you can't get a second foot down just shows a major lack of self awareness. You don't need that on your team.

    Its immaturity at its best.

It does make me appreciate DJ though. Guy has been going through the same stuff as 14, but keeps showing up and working hard. 18 is a keeper. Extend him and trade 14 at the seasons end. Get him to 1000 yards and 3 or 4 more TDs by the end of the season and they can probably get a nice return, maybe even a huge jump up in the draft. Good riddance

He threw him an easy TD ball and Pickens blew it. Call it laziness, a lapse in concentration, lost focus, whatever. He screwed up there. I don’t disagree that we need to throw him the ball, but Pickens has a long way to go to be a no. 1 receiver. His route running needs a lot of improvement and for crying out loud he needs to learn how to be a good teammate. Him sitting on the bench sulking after DJ’s go ahead touchdown was terribke optics. He needs to grow up! While there is still hope for him, if he’s not careful he’ll follow the path of another mega talented receiver here who decided that he was more important than anything or anybody else. At least he waited until he had a few spectacular years under his belt before he went totally crazy.

Somebody needs to tell him the story of John Stallworth. Stalls was an humble guy who was content letting Swann get all of the accolades and praise. But he kept his nose down and kept grinding, was an awesome teammate and helped his team win multiple Super Bowls. His bust now sits in Canton alongside his higher profile teammate. Get your act together, George! If you do, the sky is the limit!

He's displayed elite talent. Someone will be dumb enough to give up at least a second rounder for him, but the Steelers need to strike while the iron is hot.

he is ELITE beyond ELITE with raw talent, but.....
I am not sure......we have ALL seen this movie, teams have learned. We may get a 2 or 3 for him, about what we drafted him at. MAYBE, maybe.....maybe a 1 if LUCKY

Make the deal before draft night 2024.

get rid of this clown, he is just a ticking time bomb, sadly for us Steeler fans

this is another setback already for an O that stinks w little WR help in sight. and DJ's contract ends next year. and he also is a question mark - I said a few weeks ago that he will fleece us b/c we have failed in our WR planning.

True that! I have a feeling the Pickens may be one of those guys who’d rather ball out in a loss than play just average in a win.

This is an issue team leaders/captains should be handling

    Not Tomlin

If it gets to Tomlin handling it it’s a sit on the bench issue or stay home

Anyone who has ever worked in management with a good union knows what I’m talking about

true - love to see Cam get in his grill, he or Minkah. Who on O can do that? really, no one. bunch of children on that side of the ball. but those 2 could, I'd think? in the old day, Better, Ward, maybe. but no one right now. Doubt he respects DJ or Robinson.

IMO - it won't matter. I think he is messed up. time will tell.....

    IDK

Take AB for example some people think he was mishandled

In hindsight I think Tomlin held the lid down on the trash can until the garbage truck got there and then he emptied it

swann didn't get all the accolades and praise. most knew what stallworth meant to that duo. we have no idea what may have transpired in the age of the interweb if it was then. i know one thing chuck noll wouldn't be their friend in these situations like MT. he was their coach and acted like it. he didn't care who they were. how many times did he bench bradshaw? MT lets this crap go on so why wouldn't they?
