Interestingly enough those same wide receivers had no problems getting off the line of scrimmage last year. Face it your messiah haley is no where near the OC that you and others make him out to be. He forced a simplistic and predictable offense on a franchise qb and failed miserably in the process. Y'all will continue to make excuses for him "it was injuries", "it's ben's fault", but the truth is he brought an offense that doesn't fit the players on the team. Run for a yard on first down, run for a yard on 2nd down, and then pray that Ben can bail you out on 3rd down is not solid offensive scheme.

Wasn't the short passing game working good before we stopped trying it?

You may be correct but we also need two other QB backups. of the 2 we have I trust Charlie most but, I don;t want him long term say 4 games. When Ben was suspended Charlie came through. He also came through for bmore. If lefty hadn't got hurt, tomlin would have played him in bmore 2 and we would have been out of the playoffs last ween not this week

Stop this insanity. Haley had one year to sell his system, Ben clearly had some man-love for Arians because of the freedom it gave him. We had WR's that couldn't hold onto the ball, a 2nd/3rd string RB. This is not a season to gauge apples to apples.

Look at the numbers behind this season. Prior to injury, Ben completed 66% of his passes at an average of 10 yards per completion. After injury he completed 55% of his passes with an average reception of 14 yards per catch. Anyone here think that the QB might, just might, have some impact as to who he throws the ball to? Absolutely. Haley can design the plays, set a game plan, etc, but Ben still does have some flexibility in audibles, playcalling and who he throws to.

Another important number overlooked is that so far Ben has only been sacked 28 times as opposed to his "normal" 40+. I don't see steelers mgmt being upset that their big investment has a chance to extend his career.... if he can move past the pouting stage.

Ben had an OC that worked with him and it didn't make him a consistently better QB. Ben had 2 OC's that wanted Ben to just execute the offense based on their game plans. Those OC's didn't not make Ben a consistently better QB. They can change OC's again and Ben will remain the same inconsistent QB.

Whether it's accuracy, poor mechanics, what appears to be poor preparation at times, bad decision making, blitz recognition, ect. the issue with Ben is consistency. As a result of inconsistent play, the offense suffers at times. The team can live with Ben's inconsistent style of play as long as the defense remains strong. The team can't win games if he gives the ball away at the end. It will be difficult for the team to win if he doesn't produce in the closing minutes of games like he did in the past. This is the issue the Steelers will be facing going forward.

    OC's come and go...Franchise QB's don't.

Though in Haley's defense, Ben was having a pretty darn good year (6-3 with some D struggles in those 3) prior to being injured. But Hey, I'm all for making coaching changes. Apparently, Haley is predictable see the Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers games.
