I know the Pats were a bitter rival, BUT he had 14 pretty good seasons (6 Super Bowl rings). I think he could possibly do a better job than the slouch we have now. Just saying.

How would he have been without Brady? Hard pass for me.

Agreed that Brady was the offense for the pats, but at least it looked like he knew how to win. Look at all the no-name talent the pats have had over the years, and they all played well. Brady could not make all of those guys play well, he had to have something to do with it.

Always found it amazing and frustrating when Patriots grabbed a relative no name and damn guy seem to become a superstar. I am enjoying their decline very much.

Exactly. Coaching still matters, regardless of talent. Look at when Brady first went to TB. Him and Arians weren't exactly a good fit. Arians had to adjust some things in order to make that match more successful. Having a guy like Brady sure helps, it helps a lot, but it's not like you can just put the team on auto-pilot and it will run itself. Coaching still matters.

None of us know how much of the success was Brady, how much was Belichek and how much was McDaniels. I'll say this though, McDaniels is better than Canada and you can't convince me otherwise. He's probably better than the mediocre replacement we're going to hire after Canada "retires" this off season. I'm sure it will be some internal hire, because those have worked so well for us...

Is there better than McDaniels out there? Maybe. Can we do worse than McDaniels? We sure can. McDaniels seems to have a bright, offensive mind. For whatever reason, being a head coach isn't his thing, the same way it wasn't for Mike Munchak.

I also believe Tomlin is a big problem and will handicap anyone we bring in, but that's just me.

They ain't doing that no more! Horrible draft picks and just not a lot of talent on that team.

Then you can look at the talent he had in Vegas and got fired for his lack of success. After that you can look at the talent he had in Denver that he got rid of to begin his Darth Hoodie style make over of the Broncos which he lost his job over because of what again ? Oh yeah lack of success. He is first and foremost a product of BB's system and with out the OCD head coach he like so many of his coworkers in that coaching tree fail miserably.

My apologies, not trying to hi-jack the thread. Just was on my mind, before I had a chance to look through the posts.

Did he coach Mac Jones his first year? I’m not a fan of the guy but I do recall Jones having some success his first year in the league and now he has regressed. The run game was always solid under Daniels and I know Brady and play action helped a lot with that but even a couple years ago I thought the patriots had a decent run game, no?

I think it would definitely be better than what we have right now. If I were Rooney I would bring the guy on as an outside consultant for the rest of the year and feel him out. I don’t know if he would be willing to do that or not. It would give us a gage on his personality at least. I think they already know the kind of offense he runs. It would have to be determined if they desire that kind of offense and if we have the personnel for that kind of offense.

Anybody can look good if they cheat!...hard pass for me. I don't want the "Patriot way" anywhere near my team.

The Steelers have lost their way. All we have now is the "standard", and I guess the "standard" is to play junk football

Not a problem, and don’t worry about Glenn. He just likes a clean and tidy message board, and can’t help himself but to point out things like that.
