Trade Chuks Okorafor and Najee Harris.

Who are we kidding. This team isn’t going anywhere this year. Why not try to gain some draft capital for next year? Okorafor is a heavy expense and he isn’t living up to his contract. We can play Moore or Jones at RT and the other at LT. We all know Okorafor isn’t gong to be the long term answer anyway. Najee isn’t a fit for the offense and we aren’t going to sign him to a second contract when we have other more pressing needs. You can go out and draft a good RB in the 3rd or 4th rd in todays NFL it is foolish to sign RB’s to a second contract even good ones.

If we could get two thirds out of these trades and recoup some salary cap going into next year that would really set us up going into next years draft and position us for a free agent splash or two.

Severely doubt someone like Patrick Surtain II is possible. That said, Kaiir Elam may need a new change of scenery. I would be willing to listen for at least him. Current dream pick is Jaylon Johnson but he wants to be paid as one of the highest Corners in all of football.

That option to pick up doesn't kick in until next season.

If we get rid of Najee who is going to back up Warren? Right now the 3rd team back is Godwin Igwebuike and they still have the often injured and ineffective Anthony McFarland. I guess they could bring back Benny Snell but that is pretty slim pickens behind and Warren.

They are not trading Harris. They have a big decision after this season to offer him a 5th year. I would say no. They can find a running back in the 3rd or 4th. Warren can handle the duties.

Chuks sure is intriguing but if they wait till next year they can shave 8.750 mill his dead cap would be 3,083.334. He is locked in this season no one is going to take on this seasons contract. And what would you get?

 

And why is that?

 

Scheme, coaching, fit, blocking, Najee’s running style etc.

Have we had any first draft picks that have amounted to anything worth a first pick since TJ? Getting more draft picks in the 3rd round doesn't excite when we can get it right higher up. JMO>
