While I hated the weak roughing the passer call and the shot that took out Kenny the Steelers did get a favorable no call on a shot to Lawrence's head as TJ batted the ball.

He hit the ball first. All I ask is call a game evenly, and thay game was no way called evenly.

Right but that's where we're at with today's officiating. You'll get some real sh!tty calls against you but by golly, maybe you'll get a few for you here and there!
How about a concerted effort to make officiating more consistent across the board?

I want the league and players union to change the intentional grounding rule so that the rule matches what the action is. Last night the Chargers actually got called for it by doing exactly what it sounds like. Herbert was under pressure and the rb screen didn't materialize so he chucked it away. He intentionally threw it into the ground to avoid the sack. This bs where they throw it at the ankles of some receiver who doesn't know its coming to avoid a sack is by definition intentionally throwing it at the ground. Then after the establish that let them go back to throwing it away on the sideline instead of having to sprint over outside the tacklebox and risk injury to throw it away.

Is that like the Raven's favorite rule of killing everyone on batted balls? Because if that's the rule why didn't more teams kill Brady after batting balls? I'd be all for it. Don't even need to pay me.

I watched that hit on Pickett several times and at the last second, it looks like the defender is putting his right hand down to brace his fall. That is clearly what that goofball announcer was pointing out. Problem with that is if you watch his left shoulder, it looks to me like he's clearly pivoting to drive his shoulder into Pickett.

The real kicker about hits like that is most of us love them. That's what football is all about. Unfortunately, they're just not consistent with the calls. Either call both of them or neither but this subjective bullsh!t gets old because by the letter of the rule, the hit on Pickett is a penalty.

Are tinfoil hats comfortable? I'm asking for a friend.

Fining players repeatedly and drug testing them is not the same as fixing a game. Harrison thumbed his nose at the rule changes and warnings from the commissioner's office, so they kept fining him. That did not compromise the integrity of the game played on the field in any way.

That isn't even close to the same thing as the league fixing games. That is among the worst analogies I've heard in a very long time.

It should be none because the Rams got plenty of calls their way before that play, including a poor spot in their favor on the third-down play.

Also, a blow to the head has to be forcible to be a foul. That one wasn't.

That former ref Mike Pereira said that call shouldn't be made on the guard FWIW.

I'm glad Diontae said it, the refs weren't the reason the Steelers lost but they were terrible, they called roughing the passer on the Steelers then Pickett gets hit late no flag.

I love old school football as much as the next guy, but what is the NFL supposed to do? They got sued by former players for letting the players play. If they let guys smash each other like before, they get sued. They have no choice but to make these ridiculous rules. It's every contact sport, not just football.

As for the QB hits. If you land directly on the QB, they'll call it every time. If you're off to the side at least a little bit, they tend not to let it go. You can have an arm and shoulder on the QB when you go down, you just can't have your torso on the QB or they'll call it.

Not talking about the calls yesterday, just making a general comment about what I've seen from the refs

Exactly. I'm not mad at all about a non call on the Hit on KFP....if We don't get penalties for the same thing. All I ask for is consistency.

On a similar note, I've always said dropped passes should part of the WR stats and not counted against the QB as an incompletion.
