Everyone always assumes that when you talk about fixing games or predetermined outcomes that there is some huge conspiracy that owners, players, refs and coaches have to be in on. That's the worst way to influence games. More people who know about it, the harder it is to keep secret. It could be done very easily by maybe two ppl with one being a relatively minor league official but in a critical position that brings issues to the commissioner for consideration. So team A always brings a lot of QB pressure and likes to hit the QB. Team B their opponent has a pocket passer who is pretty stationary but Brady like in his play. So the guy brings up that the refs should focus on player safety especially hits to the QB and the memo goes out. So you have just influenced the outcome of the game without a huge conspiracy just by saying we want to see lots of roughing the passer calls for the slightest infraction.

I knew there had to be a logical reason but it seemed like a penalty for Pittsburgh because of the runoff.

Fill it where? Not in Pittsburgh. Every game it seems somewhat empty to me especially upper deck. It was very empty yesterday being there and seeing it in person.

I do go to games. I've also been to many away games. I've flown all over the country attending NFL games. I'm well aware of the support the Steelers have. I'm also aware that that does very, very little for the value of a franchise. Whether the Steelers can sell out other stadiums or not is irrelevant to their value.
I'm aware of seating capacities. I'm also aware that seating capacities is one of the things that affects team value, as does market size, whether they own the stadium, etc.
I don't need to ignore the reported value of NFL teams, because those numbers were stated by people far more educated on this topic than I am. I won't pretend to know better than they do. Besides, if the Steelers are worth more than their reported value, every other team probably is as well.

TV revenue is largely shared with NFL teams, so the Steelers having better ratings than Jax doesn't necessarily do much for their value.

Oh yeah. I go to 1 a year and always see lots of empty seats on tv. Maybe it hasnt been this year but it wasnt yesterday. The upper deck was maybe 75% full and lower 95%.

Luckily I was under the roof in the club box seats yesterday. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.

Yeah it did, really sucked. However, if they spotted the ball properly the first time, we never would have had to go to replay and wouldn't have lost the time... unfortunate indeed.

I understand how it works, but you seriously think they’re selling out 120,000

Yep and if you want to get the calls don’t be a crappy team for over a decade you’ll notice the contenders will get the calls because no one wants to see a crappy team in the playoffs especially one who barley can get 1 TD per game for 2 years

Yes if the stadium was set up right and they build the needed infrastructure around it such as hotels and parking. People would travel to town to see a game it set up right. You ever been there?

    No way

Any article which discusses people who are there on GameDay discusses how its well below 100% capacity. It sucks but I get it. It's so expensive to go. If I lived there or closer I would have gotten season tickets on the secondary market by now. Been on the wait list for 15 or so years now.

My friends always would make fun of the empty seats and I'd go with the you can't look at the start or halftime, but there's 0 hiding it now.

You can even do it online. You then get to buy tickets like 2 hours before they're on sale to general public or other events you can get tix to before the general public, but it seems it has to be over a 20 yr wait to actually get them unless you buy a license on the market

I am not arguing its "sold out". I have eyes and just as I can tell Matt Canada is a trashcan I see empty seats live in person and on TV for a few years now. If u don't so be it. I will still go and watch.

209 row f. I've been 1 other time on the home side. I've been in the upper deck countless times and in the 100s a few times. Figured for my kids 1st game club would be better and luckily if I was in row E we would have been rained on.

Really thought the game was shaping up for a typical finish with renegade. Wanted them to see that rather than me playing it every Sunday at home

Nothing beats being there. U miss so much on TV. Still a good experience regardless of full or 3/4 full. I just checked and I've been on the wait list since 2011 when you had to send actual mail to be added to the list. My hope is my kids go to Pitt and I somehow move to Pittsburgh and by then I'm a season ticket holder
